• Saying Grace At Meals

I was wondering, during dinner today, why Christians have this custom
    of saying rCLgracerCY at meals.

Something to do with being thankful for food received? Because food is essential for life?

But itrCOs not the only thing thatrCOs essential for life, is it? Water is
even more essential. Do Christians say grace before taking a drink of
    water?

And for something even more essential: how about the oxygen in fresh
air. Do Christians say grace before taking each breath?

    If not, why not?

In contrast to water or oxygen, any food eatable by humans is
obtained by killing other life forms, and the Christians may say
thanks to God for allowing them to kill other life for food.

I am not a Christian, but I sometimes give thanks to the
species someone (the smallest in mass someone in
Cosma containing all the species members) of the species
that a food I am consuming comes from. Moreover,
for fish I am consuming (I donrCOt eat mammals or birds)
I do my blessing on the dead on the individual fish.
And I often do the same for mammals and birds that
    my housemates consume.

Do you give thanks to the photosynthesizing species that the oxygen

    Why not?

Is it because, to them, the oxygen you breathe is a noxious waste gas?

OK, I did thank all the plant (including algae and phytoplankton)
species someones for the oxygen, a while before I saw your
most recent post. But it was a one-time thank you which
I donrCOt think I need to regularly renew.

And I have before thanked the chemical someone Water,
the smallest in mass someone in Cosma containing all the
H2O in Cosma, for water. I do not know if my Water is
the same as the Wiccan or ceremonial magick or
traditional indigenous Element Water. My Water
is a minor deity to me.

Why have you posted this thread to nz.politics, is that
your rCLhomerCY group, as I guess alt.religion.druid is for me?
