Jimmy Carter was not seen as an exceptional Efc|Efc+ President, but he contributed an amazing amount to the world after his Presidency ended.
One major project that he started looks to be coming close to
completion, with the eradication of the Guinea worm <https://arstechnica.com/health/2026/02/guinea-worm-on-track-to-be-2nd-eradicated-human-disease-only-10-cases-in-2025/>.
From millions of cases being reported annually, less than a
half-century ago, we are down to no more than a dozen or two in
    humans.

This would be only the second human infectious disease (after
smallpox) to be eradicated. Polio continues to hover tantalizingly on
the fringes, thanks to stubborn (even violent) pockets of anti-vaccine resistance, and no thanks at all to the USA using a fake polio
vaccination campaign as a cover for their assassination of Osama Bin
    Laden.
