TrumprCOs claims that NATO members rCLheld a little back from the front linesrCY in Afghanistan has offended many in the UK and elsewhere.

But realistically, do you think yourCOre going to get an apology out of
him? Everything he says, is for the local US audience, for local US
media, and to soothe the egos of his supporters. What the
international community thinks doesnrCOt count at all. Like the
consequences of everything else he does, he expects it will simply
    blow over.

Why dont we tell him to stick his special relationship and break free from pandering to the US.

They have never really been a friend, they made a huge amount out of us
    during the war.

    Easier said than done.

Depending on Daddy Warbucks to be the bedrock of the worldrCOs financial
system and international law and order has been the path of least
resistance for much of the (Western) world since the end of World War
    II.

Sure, there have been a few hiccups along the way (Israel, Vietnam,
Iraq), but nothing too painful to bear, until this current
narcissistic baby comes along and completely upsets the apple cart.

There are still some who believe that, if they hold their breath and
tiptoe quietly around this guy, and keep saying soothing things every
time he looks their way, that they can go back to the way things were
    before.

But remember what Churchill said: rCLThe appeaser is the one who feeds
the crocodile, hoping it will eat him lastrCY. The more you give in to
the Fascist dictator, the more he demands.

Reining him in is going to be painful for the world.

Well, he seems to be walking back those comments now, and saying nice
things about UK troops, at least.

But realistically, do you think yourCOre going to get an apology out
    of him?

    Nope.
