If yourCOre going to try to show what the war was like for the Germans,
perhaps refrain from trying to showing any sympathy or respect towards
Nazis. Most of the German armed forces were not Nazis: they were,
largely, honourable fighters, who respected the Geneva Conventions in
their handling of captured Allied soldiers. Those are the sort of
people you want to portray sympathetically.
This goes all the way up to Erwin Rommel, a legendary soldier who won
respect from friend and enemy alike. Even though he did join the Nazi
Party, he was a complete political na|>f, who never understood what it
meant to be a Nazi.
