  • So where to now after the Maori Party 'reset'?

    The Maori Party reset has demonstrated again, along with the antics
    during Oriini Kaipara's maiden speech to Parliament, just how toxic
    they would be to any government that they are a part of.

    Note well Labour. Unless you get this right, a vote for Labour is a
    vote for a Government that includes such a toxic and unpredictable
    party. The image of the co-leaders walking away from their 'reset'
    press conference may well have been a rehearsal for how they walk out
    on a government when something they don't like gets them pissed off.

    I think it is just second nature to anyone who is immersed in Maori
    Culture - and a fair few non-Maori as well. Just imagine PM Hipkins
    making a decision that the Maori Party oppose - they could just as
    readily walk out of any coalition agreement they signed as they did on
    Thursday when the awkward questions started.
