    Any decent free newsreaders apart from Phonews (which you cannot post from)

    You've been around long enough to know this.

    If you think a query is really relevant to two newsgroups -- and in

    threads. Crosspost.

    It's not rocket surgery.

    Stan didn't mention which newsgroup was double posted so I looked at

    And found one double post here:
    <https://www.novabbs.com/computers/article-flat.php?id=3125&group=news.software.readers#3125>
    But there's much more useful information in the Android doublepost.

    The OP has a half dozen Android newsreaders to test, where all I ask is
    what I ask of everyone (including myself), which is an update in the end
    so that everyone benefits from every question ever posed to these ngs.

    not everyone reading in one newsgroup is necessarily reading in another; cross-posting is anathema to common sense--and to netiquette in general!
    better to post articles to only one newsgroup at a time but never xpost*

    some readers, especially the younger generation, do not use anything but smartphones; whereas many seniors (e.g. myself) have never used anything
    but desktop/laptop computers since the xt, trs-80, etc., were in diapers

    *hint: to satisfy "net-cop" trolls, make each seperately posted message slightly different as with this reply e.g. by adding a few extra spaces and/or actually note to where it was also posted...(comp.mobile.android)

    Rubbish. This advice is wrong and goes against long-standing custom
    and usage on Usenet. To follow the above advice is itself a breach of netiquette.

    If you multipost or crosspost, the message should show up in all the groups you've posted to. Why would crossposting not show a message in each group
    it is crossposted? You may hit limits of number of groups, but you usually
    only want 2 or 3 at most anyway. Multiposting just causes readers to show
    the same message unread in each group, even though you have already read
    it.

    some readers, especially the younger generation, do not use anything but smartphones; whereas many seniors (e.g. myself) have never used anything but desktop/laptop computers since the xt, trs-80, etc., were in diapers

    I would assume that if your server blocks multiposts, and you want to multipost, use a different server.

    These are my opinions, and my opinions have been known to be wrong at
    times.

    seems that cross-posting might work better in closely-related newsgroups,
    e.g. alt.atheism,alt.fan.nietzsche,alt.fan.voltaire,alt.god,talk.atheism
    were it not for the pandemic usenet troll farm floods which have plagued
    every busy newsgroup since the "eternal september" holocaust--and became
    even worse once google stamped out dejanews and eventually put all other troll-friendly servers to shame! so no matter whether mass cross-posting continues unabated or not won't affect the vast majority of these groups
    one iota; like the song says "i could be wrong now, but i don't think so"

    some readers, especially the younger generation, do not use anything but

    i'm only a retired hobbyist with no formal education beyond grade school,
    so what little i might know about this subject is only though experience;
    for serious users (not trolls) cross-posting may work fine? c'est la vie
