Thanks for the useful stats. I'll post less and less this year as I won't
be responding to tirades anymore, so that should halve my posts perhaps.

As for topics, I think it's GREAT the latest topics which revolve around helping people on the newsgroup with specific issues they are having.

As an aside, next chance you get, ask the T-mobile rep when you call them
(if you call them) what your "internal health account score" is.

Apparently the higher the number (mind is 7,000) the better promos you get.
The only reason it matters is I broke my daily drive so I need a new phone.

The whole point of conversations on Usenet is to discuss topics of mutual interest among people who may know more than you do about that very topic.

Considering my iPhone 14 is getting long in the tooth, I may need to
look into a replacement soon. Thanks!

Considering my iPhone 14 is getting long in the tooth, I may need to
look into a replacement soon. Thanks!

I took off the pressure by accidentally figuring out that the old dumb
chargers would charge my broken-port phone, so I don't have to pick
    immediately a new phone.

T-Mobile offers about a dozen free phones but the only ones that make any
sense are Galaxies or Pixels, since that's what most people have and having what most people have makes it a lot easier to modify the phone later.

The problem is the A35 is free and has the fifty-cent sd slot but they're
out of stock at T-Mobile so they push you toward the A36 which lacks it.

It costs about $100 to bring a free 128 GB Pixel 9A to 25G GB which saved Google fifty cents by not having the sd slot and which cost Google about
five bucks for the 128GB of memory, so Google makes $95.50 in profit.

That $95.50 pure profit is the ONLY reason the Pixel lacks the fifty cent
sd slot, where I'm doing just fine with my 64GB Galaxy which has over a thousand packages installed but it also has a 128GB sd card to help out.

Anyway, I came here to post back that the exact name for the credits I was talking about is "EC Credit". It's important to know 'cuz it determines how much credit you have (they will give me $7,000 in promotions if available).

    Notice that "if available" caveat?

I went to the T-Mobile store in San Jose Oakridge Mall and they told me my
plan is "too good" to get a lot of promotions. Huh? What's that about?

My plan, they say, is called "SC FAM UNL TT+D4" which they abbreviate to "SCFUTT4" in their promotional lookup engines, to see what I can get.

So what I suggest you ask T-Mobile, next time you're talking to them, is
what is the "EC Credit" score and what is your plan name.

Both of those attributes determine which promotions are available to you.
