    Quote:

The security company Synthient currently sees more than 2 million infected Kimwolf devices distributed globally but with concentrations in Vietnam, Brazil, India, Saudi Arabia, Russia and the United States. Synthient found
that two-thirds of the Kimwolf infections are Android TV boxes with no
    security or authentication built in.

    End Quote.

It's very long (and interesting) article, but it is all Android devices from noname companies (but being sold by Amazon, Walmart etc.) causing this. At
the end of the article you can easily check to see if you are affected. I have no Android anything, so I am not affected by this.

The companies selling this junk need to be stopped/fined/SOMETHING.

And this has exactly to do what with iOS or iPhones?

Not a surprise. Mass produced, cheap and unmaintained IoT was always going
    to be ripe for exploitation.

Nothing at all. Just an interesting warning.

What did your reply bring to the table?

I just asked a question to reveal the OT-character of your
"contribution" which has a negative value because of the waste of time
    to find out.

Not a lot. But I found it useful because although I have no android devices, all my children do and made appropriate checks.

This I grant you - it should have been marked [OT]. But even Jove nods.
