John Berman: So voter ID, just so people understand, is the idea that someone shows a photo ID when they go to vote, when they go to cast their actual ballot, because there-As a separate discussion right now about needing a passport or a birth certificate to register to vote. But the polling is all on voter ID showing an ID to vote.

Harry Enten: Showing a photo ID to vote. And the American people are with Nicki Minaj because what are we talking about here? So take a look here. Favor Voter ID to vote. Look, I got all this polling on the screen going back since 2018. You-All notice on all of it, it-As all north of 75%, 76%, 76%, 76%, 81%, and then 83% in the last year of Americans agree with

So again, Nicki Minaj posting that on X.And what you see is that the American people, actually, it-As not really all that controversial. The American people are with Nicki Minaj, whether they are Republican or even

This is very simple. Ask yourself why the Democrats are so opposed to voter ID. While you are at it ask yourself why the Democrats are so opposed to further investigations into voter fraud? Hint: maybe the previous investigations were nothing

And if that isn't enough to keep you busy, ask yourself why Democrats didn't lock down the border but in fact rescinded Trump's EO protecting the country. Were they just stupid or was/is there a bigger plan.
And lastly, ask yourself why the Democrats support illegal migrants, many who have

John Berman: So voter ID, just so people understand, is the idea

Harry Enten: Showing a photo ID to vote. And the American people are

all north of 75%, 76%, 76%, 76%, 81%, and then 83% in the last year

The American people are with Nicki Minaj, whether they are

Harry Enten: Okay, what?s the racial breakdown on this? Because I

But even here, take a look here. Favor photo ID to vote. 85% of

It is a waste of time and money. Whether precinct or mail voting,
counties prepare lists of whom can vote at a site. When you show up you
sign your name, and your name marked off. Voting under someone else's
name is immediately detected. By mail checks signatures on registration records.

So you are 100% in favour of making it simple and easy to get voter
    ID, right?

    It already is.

No. It most definitely is NOT.

Alabama passed a strict voting ID law...

...then closed 31 DMV offices in majority-black and poor areas.

In 8 of the 11 counties where Black residents make up more than 50% of
the population, the local driverrCOs license office was shuttered. While
the state eventually agreed to keep some offices open one or two days a
month following federal pressure, the limited hours still make it very difficult for hourly workers or those without reliable transportation to secure an ID.

In Mississippi, many offices in rural or majority-minority counties are
only open one or two days a week, or even once a month. Because the
state requires an original birth certificate to get a "voter ID card,"
and many rural residents lack the transportation to get to the county
seat on the specific day the office is open, the barrier is functional
even if the building still exists.

There are other examples if you'd like.

    Exactly!
And it's a good thing that the polls are leaning big time towards
    people supporting
    voter ID.
I'm not a poll person, but this is common sense no matter how the
    leftist democrats
    try and spin it.

While
the state eventually agreed to keep some offices open one or two days a month following federal pressure, the limited hours still make it very difficult for hourly workers or those without reliable transportation to secure an ID.

Driver licenses aren't the only valid form of ID. There are multiple
options. The state backed off full closures in many cases and expanded
access, such as by offering free voter IDs at more locations and
providing alternative options. Alabama issues free photo voter ID cards specifically for voting purposes through county boards of registrars or
    other designated officesrConot just DMVs.

The process for a free Mississippi Voter ID card allows alternatives if
you lack a birth certificate, such as an expired photo ID, Social
Security card, Medicare/Medicaid card, utility bill, bank statement,
paycheck, or other government documents showing name and address. The
state even verifies birth information for free if you provide basic
details (ie name, DOB, state of birth, mother's maiden name). The state provides free transportation assistance for those who need help getting
to a Circuit Clerk's office. While some rural offices have limited
hours, this is not unique to voter IDsrComany government services in rural areas work this wayrCoand the state has mechanisms to accommodate.

There are other examples if you'd like.

Equally as lame as the previous.

Almost every civic duty or government interaction involves some effort: renewing a license, paying taxes, getting a passport, getting freebie
handouts (welfare, rent/housing assistance, etc.) or even registering to
vote initially. But "inconvenience" doesn't equate to systemic barriers preventing people from voting.

Plenty of analyses have been done on this and the evidence points to
little to no negative effect registration or turnout. If getting an ID
were truly "very difficult" or functionally impossible for large groups,
we'd see massive, sustained drops in turnout among affected
    demographicsrCobut we don't.

Stop confusing inconvenience with difficulty. And by all means, stop
    insulting blacks.

No. It most definitely is NOT.

Alabama passed a strict voting ID law...

In 8 of the 11 counties where Black residents make up more than 50% of
the population, the local driver?s license office was shuttered. While
the state eventually agreed to keep some offices open one or two days a month following federal pressure, the limited hours still make it very difficult for hourly workers or those without reliable transportation to secure an ID.

In Mississippi, many offices in rural or majority-minority counties are
only open one or two days a week, or even once a month. Because the
state requires an original birth certificate to get a "voter ID card,"
and many rural residents lack the transportation to get to the county
