Centos CAN be a good base for servers -
the RHEL for people with normal budgets.

However the Gnome4 desktop mess is very
off-putting and makes things much more
difficult than they need to be.

Centos *was* a good base for servers, tracking RHEL without the costly Enterprise subscription, but it has become the Rawhide edition of RHEL.

The path is Rawhide => Fedora => Centos Stream => RHEL.

Funny, I just got into it. In case people
do not want to go to twitter, it is a sign
    with:

    1. A painted Red Baseball Hat, no writing on the hat

2 This phase above the hat:
"cant spell hatred without red hat"
With the word "hatred" in red ink and all in caps.

Sign of the times: the first thing I thought of was a
red hat bearing the words "Make computing great again".

Way back in the days of yore, Red Hat would rent a hotel suite
at trade shows. At one of them, I got a hat.

It is a red, Red Hat, hat. (Although, the color is darker,
like burgundy, with a gray-green bill.)

Don't ask me to produce it though, it's buried in a box in the
    basement.
