    $ uname -a

    Linux lm 6.19.5 #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Feb 28 18:35:40 PST 2026 x86_64

    The 580.126.18 NVIDIA drivers work on the new kernels (including
    CUDA), but the blinking Xfce windows still happens, unless you
    turn off vblank.

    You can do this (permanently) with the following command:

    $ xfconf-query -c xfwm4 -p /general/vblank_mode -t string -s "off" --create

    OS: Linux 6.19.5 D: Mint 22.3 DE: Xfce 4.18 (X11)
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090Ti (24G) (580.126.18)

    vallor wrote this screed in ALL-CAPS:

    You could edit

    ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfwm4.xml

    and change this line:

    <property name="vblank_mode" type="string" value="auto"/>

    Probably need to log out and in.

    Either way, it's so simple one might need to google and find
    this post :-)
