• If you are interested in a mini PC comparable to mine

    https://www.amazon.com/BOSGAME-E2-Channel-Computers-Ethernet/dp/B0DKJGC1S6?th=1

    BOSGAME E2 Mini PC Ryzen 5 3550H(Max 3.7GHz) DDR4 Mini Computers, 16GB
RAM 512GB NVMe SSD, Dual HDMI, 4 USB Ports, 1 RJ45 Ethernet Ports, Wi-Fi
    5, BT5.0

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

This one has an AMD CPU, but otherwise is pretty much the same thing.
The price is $50 more than when I ordered mine, but we know why that'd
be, with the RAM shortage blah blah. Still a good value, and as far as
I can gather from the info on the page, Win11 would be preinstalled, but
it specifically offers the choice of Win10 or Linux, if you reinstall
with their instructions (or just download such the normal way, I would imagine).

Actually, I overlooked something, this one has multithreading, it's
eight threads on four cores, unlike mine being four threads on four cores.

Sure, but it is still ~25% more expensive.

Depends on what one considers 'value'.

For example, looking up the CPU's single core Geekbench, its ~940, which
means that it is ~35% the power of the first generation M1 CPUs from
Apple, which have now been out for a half decade. That means going back further for parity: probably equivalent to a decade-old Intel i5...

It's cheap, sure, but it's sold on fuckin' eBay, it's outdated crap,
you're trying to make its ability to boot macOS a thing, heh. No one
cares about macOS except Apple fans. It's crap. This device is worth

Nice for a fuckin' museum of crap hardware from crApple.

Doesn't explain why you chose to pay 4x more, though...
Especially since that example can run MacOS, Windows -or- Linux,
    which yours can't do.

With 8 GB RAM?-a Two cores (but admittedly four threads)?-a What ports
does it have, to compare to the China-"OEM" makers?-a Why do I give a
flying fuck about its ability to run macOS?!

Its 75% cheaper, so who cares: cost is your primary metric of 'value'.

It's cheap, sure, but it's sold on fuckin' eBay, it's outdated crap,
you're trying to make its ability to boot macOS a thing, heh.-a No one
cares about macOS except Apple fans.-a It's crap.-a This device is worth less than nothing, in reality.-a I'd rather put up the $200+ for a contemporary device.

Not valid complaints, since it can run Linux (which you prefer) and it
is much cheaper than what you've spent on your latest box. Heck, you
can buy two of them to have a spare and still spend just half as much.

And as evidenced by what you just bought this time, your use case
apparently just don't have the need for more horsepower, so you may as
well "Yaris" value it all & pocket the savings for extra lunch money.

Depends on what one considers 'value'.
