Linux 6.19.2 running, now that the driver is updated.

To kill the flicker in Xfce, one runs:

    $ xfwm4 --vblank=off --replace

    And here's the usual:

    $ tail -n 3 linux-6.19.2/{uname.out,nohup.out}

Larry's argument is kind of like saying that because bicycles already
worked, we didn't need cars, to get around. Forgive me, Larry, if I
want my computer to utilize its capabilities. You're free to be weird
all you want, but a great thing about GNU/Linux is how it can blossom
into something akin to Windows' interface, without being the proprietary behemoth that Windows itself is.

OpenBox is for people who think that being masochists resistant to
improvement somehow makes them more productive.

Fvwm3, which relies on X11 for compositing, is my choice
for a GUI and it is a DAMNED GOOD choice. There has
never been a problem with fvwm3.

Because you can't see a problem when one is right in front of you. When
you see one you call it normal and impossible to avoid. The easiest one
to spot is overlapping windows. When I open a Window, it's to use it as
soon as possible, not to lose some time to take care of the way it's
displayed. So an overlapping window is a problem because I have to focus
of something useless when I was focused on the thing I was doing. You
can't find better ways because you are limited by your old habits.

    Use fvwm3 and forever STFU.

I'm not ready to use your obsolete tool when better ones are easy to
    find.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! This clown has got to be joking!

For maximum ergonomics a window has to ideally take up the entire
screen. For working with a spreadsheet, an image or video processor,
a CAD program, etc. anything less than full screen is a supreme
    torture.

For any decent WM, like FVWM3, there should be no problem. I can
have 20 overlapping windows and can very easily cycle through
all of them with the "scroll" wheel or with hot keys. Virtual
desktops (up to 9 VDs with FVWM3) or multiple monitors can effect
    full-screen windows even more efficiently.

So an overlapping window is a problem because I have to focus
of something useless when I was focused on the thing I was doing.

You are a very awkward person. Maybe you have a neurological
deficit of some kind that inhibits your visual and manual
dexterity. You should consult with a doctor. Tell him about your
preference for non-overlapping windows. He could use a good
laugh. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

Personal computing should always be a pleasure and a joy.
    Non-overlapping windows are a torture.
