Oh, and I just tried it in LibreOffice Writer version 25.8.4.2, with the following steps:
* Select some text * Select the menu option rCLInsert raA Hyperlink ...rCY
(shortcut CTRL/K)
* Paste the link in the URL field * Click OK
Done. In an office suite running on hardware you control, not in the
cloud!
