• Vote: Is Arlen, aka Maria Sophia, a troll?

    From Carlos E. R.@robin_listas@es.invalid to comp.mobile.android on Mon Feb 16 22:41:35 2026
    From Newsgroup: comp.mobile.android

Arlen is accusing now Frank Slootweg of being a troll. He started a
    thread on it.

He has accused, over the years, everybody that contradicts him, of being
    a troll. Me included.

Thus we say that he is the troll here. Do you agree?

Of course, the vote of a person that has never being heard in this forum
is not valid, it could be Arlen in disguise. ;-)

In my book, a person that routinely changes his name, ie, a name
shifter, is a trol for that single reason (there are more, of course). I
    don't accept excuses to privacy.

    Arlen is a sociopath.

Join the club. It's the oldest trick in the book. Pretty sad that
someone is still trolling Usenet, after all these years. I almost pity
    him.

Thus we say that he is the troll here. Do you agree?
    8< snip >8

    100%

He's a nymshifting troll. I've added his latest sockpuppet, Maria
Sophia, in my (global) kill filter. Everybody should do the same.

Correct. Consistent anonymity is pretty easy on usenet.

Years ago! I have already 18 entries in my "Killfile Nymshifters" for
    Arlen and his alter egos.

I think that Chris is saying that it is quite difficult to know who is
Joe Somebody actually, we do not need to constantly shift names to keep
a modicum of privacy or anonymity.

    If you say so.

That is exactly where the linguistic patterns come in. Arlen can't hide
anyway. Certainly not with a simple name change. His "adult" crap and
his wording is always identifying him irrespective of his fake identity.
His arrogance is not allowing him to recognise how stupid he is in reality.

It means he's recognisable, not that we know his identity. He is still an unknown person.

Nymshifting doesn't change that either as he often asserts himself, because
he wants people to recognise him. He doesn't actually want to be anonymous.
