"Prime Minister Anthony Albanese continued to maintain this week that
Israeli President Isaac Herzog was formally invited to Australia by the federal government to help foster rCLa greater sense of unityrCY and as a comfort to the Jewish community, still reeling from the Bondi Beach
terrorist attack. But it was clear from the outset that there was also
real anger from people rCo including Jewish people rCo over the government hosting an individual cited by the UN Commission as "directly and
publicly incited the commission of genocide in contravention of Article
III(c) of the Genocide Convention". Nationwide protests against HerzogrCOs presence kicked off in Sydney, with violent clashes between police and protesters making global headlines.
CrikeyrCOs legal correspondent Michael Bradley joins the podcast to
explain whether hosting Herzog is a breach of international law, why the Sydney protest was not rCLillegalrCY, and how instances of alleged police brutality connect to the special powers granted to NSW Police.
If the Albanese governmentrCOs goal is to calm public tensions rCo as he
keeps insisting rCo did HerzogrCOs visit help or hurt?"

Inviting a significant enabler of genocidal politics in the Middle East
is an absolutely deluded and pathetic attempt at trying restore some
sort of cohesion.
In fact, trying to silence well justified critique and protests in such
an ill conceived manner (one that seeks to plaquate Zionist extremist lobbyists who unashamedly meddle in our internal affairs) using brutal implementation of violent enforcement tactics against Australian
citizens is absolutely idiotic.
Even amongst our ethnic Jewish fellow citizens such an idiotic and
misguided behaviour by the State and Federal Labor governments creates significant divisions, let alone amongst the rest of us.
This is clearly not the way to go about restoring a civilised public
discourse on any contentious political issues.
Shame on Labor, specially on the state government. There must be
consequences!
And special shame on the police force.
As to the police brutality: It is high time to designate any aggravated
abuse of state granted enforcement powers by gone fully rouge, sadistic sociopath officers as high crime and lock them up for such behaviour for
life, no paroles, keys thrown away for good. These scum are not fit to
be part of any civilised society.
So make it happen ASAP!
