• More Optus incompetence (SMTP e-mail failure)

Many Whirlpool users reported they cannot send e-mails for several days.
Optus outsourced e-mail to atmail. I guess they blocked port 25 for SMTP
due to spammers. Port 587 seems to work now without changing any other settings. But Optus support page for mail settings still says to use
port 25 this morning. Why did Optus not send e-mail to all customers to
update their e-mail settings? E-mail can still be received, it was
sending that failed. Did atmail not bother to tell Optus what they done?
But Optus should have responded to customer complaints and noticed
    something was wrong by now.

BTW Optus help via their app is useless. When you get pass the AI bot,
it is some junior cubicle drone who thinks you are using mobile phone.
Then when you tell them it is desktop computer, they say to connect PC
by ethernet not wi-fi. You have to repeat that internet connection is
fine, it is one specific feature that isn't working. Eventually escalate
to their N+1 who never calls back.

That indeed doesn't sound professional, as port 587 has been specified
more than 20 years ago - to make blocking 25 possible to stop spammers
    at home user's computers.
