Petrol prices around here are lower now than they have been for many
years, if the price went up by 20cpl the price would still be low
compared to a few years ago.

Last Tuesday, I went up to the museum, the price of petrol on Caloundra
Road was $1.53 so I thought that I'd fill up on the way home but, in
the afternoon it had gone up to $2.11. On Wednesday, I had to go to
Minyama, a bit further up the Sunshine coast, the price there a few Km
away was $1.53, around here, it's $1.99, in the Caboolture area it's
$2.11. Makes no sense, it looks like a lot of profiteering is going on.

Agree, prices are all over the place, according to petrol spy 91 in my
area is between $1.59 and $1.69 but about 10km closer to the city in
Melton its between $1.99 and $2.14 which is a big difference.

Prices have been stable around here for months with not much variation,
2 of our cars use 95 and the price keeps going down, $1.68 last time I
filled up the Merc, Porsche gets 98 and even that is getting cheaper
    although not for much longer.

My son and his girlfriend just bought a 5.6mt Stabicraft, so far I've

Lol, even mate #1 is looking at fuel prices for his Genesis, it uses 98 octane.. (shudder) I'm watching the diesel price, as I've just got home
from the block, and now have to go back in 3 days, so @ 60-65 litres
round trip. I normally keep 60L of both diesel and unleaded up the block

Yeppers. WA have some 'strange' laws regarding some of the outdoor
sports. (before you blow up, Clocky, i neither agree or disagree with
    the following...)

WA have (last year) just created what can only be described as draconian
rules on firearms, and now, general fishing from a boat. Wont bore you
to tears re the gun rules (that were bought in well before Bondi)
but the latest fishing rules are, imho, insane. (And i thought banning
garfish was bizarre!) 2 things stand out:

1: if you fish from a boat, between Augusta and Kalbarri, you need to
change what you do. (in our case, no bottom fishing for snapper, dhuie,
others like bald chin grouper.) Now it's non-stop trolling for southern bluefin tuna, Spanish Macks.. demersal fishing from a boat banned for
nearly 3 years?) Seems to me that the bag limits were good enough (2
fish per person/license per day), but the WA govt now dont think so, but
    wont provide the proof...

2: If you are a commercial fisherman, you need to sell your boat, sack
your crew, or move to another area. (Amazingly, a bit like what Andrews
did to contracted cleaners!) North's no good, as the catch up there has
been halved. South's no good, as everyone from Perth is heading that
way, and the locals down south are already arcing up that the boat ramps
are full well before sunrise. Dont know what the WA people are going to
eat at the local fish shop... snapper/dhuie is their standard, like shark/flake is in Vic, and Spanish mack is in Qld.

Apparently the WA govt have taken a read of the Dan Andrews/Jacinta
Alien handbook: "it's all about the science", but cant provide it when
asked. The whole story is available on google. Just look for "demersal ban"

My son and his girlfriend just bought a 5.6mt Stabicraft, so far I've

Still have your glass boat? I was very keen on a barcrusher boat when I pulled the pin, but have spent a motza refurbing the house after so many
years of neglect, I'm now thinking/dreaming of a 2nd place on Patterson
river with a jetty. Plonk boy in there, he pays rent, I go fishing! Love fishing, and the kingfish at the heads go off bigger and better each
year, but... but... (got the land tax for the block today..) Fuck!

Hahahaha and here's one of 'em. 11.30am Sat https://imgur.com/a/vaxFqw3
When it got nearly overhead, it produced 4 lightning bolts that hit
within 500 metres of my shack in 3 mins. Brown pants moment. Esp after

Any excuse to put the price up will do.

Petrol prices around here are lower now than they have been for many
years, if the price went up by 20cpl the price would still be low
compared to a few years ago.

Our unleaded fuel cycle is nearly monthly now, and now is a 50cpl jump,
(some locals are already $2.17) yet Perths cycle is weekly. Also their
peak is currently $1.95/trough is $1.65. Bro fills his boat (350 litre
tank) when required on "tightarse tuesdays", the bottom price. Makes
sense :-) I'll be back there in 6 weeks. Yay!

I'm regional and paid $1.64 this morning.
Still had half a tank but at the rate I go through fuel best to get it
    while the getting is good.

I topped up yesterday, $1.66 IIRC. Had over 1/3rd of a tank so only
managed to squeeze $40 in. My consumption has halved since buying a
hybrid. I average sub 4 cpl these days.

Nothing astonishes Noddy so much as common sense and plain dealing.
