Tonight's episode is titled "Huge Dose of Bamboozle." I watched the
sneak peek clips Paramount posted. It looks like we weren't shown a key
scene in the past. At least I don't remember seeing it. We find out via
Sage that Kristina told Steven about her HII and that he then told Sage.
Sage says she's known about it for a few days and then decides it's time
to tell Jawan about it. I thought Kristina was playing it smart. Guess not.

We also get more confirmation that Savannah's alliance has brought in
Sophie as they ask for her input on who they should target next.

There's supposed to be an epic blindside tonight which probably explains
the shocked look of the jury in last episode's next on Survivor preview.
I wonder if we're going to be blindsided?

Fart talk returns tonight courtesy of Sage!

    More later.

So this is how Soph can end up with an HII. I've been expecting it to
happen but I didn't think she knew about Kristina's HII, but now it
seems like she may learn about it and use her Advantage to get the
    HII.

Hmm, I wonder who is going to be blindsided. It shouldn't be Savanah
or Rizo as both know they will be potential targets if they don't have immunity.

    More later.

To me, Sophie was clearly the star of the episode. She won challenges,
made a key decision, and fed her new alliance a ton of key info that
will probably destroy her old alliance.

    Reward Challenge

Finally a reward challenge involved a trip to The Sanctuary where the
winners got a backyard BBQ. Sophi's team which included Steven, Sage,
and Sophie won. At the reward, Sophie made an interesting comment that
they shouldn't focus on the others going hungry. She said they should
see their reward as a meal that might propel them to a million dollars.
She had a million dollar confessional later in the episode as well. This
was a very positive episode for Sophie.

The most important thing that happened at The Sanctuary was Sage telling Sophie she wanted to get out Savannah and Sophie playing along with the
    plan.

    Immunity Challenge

Sophie was super impressive building the puzzle at the end. Steven and Savannah were a head of her, but she quickly caught up and solved that
puzzle in no time. Savannah losing made Sage, Jawan, etc. think they
could easily get her out or Rizo if he played his HII on her.

A key moment in the episode and probably of the season, was when Sophie decided she was going with Savannah's side as she needs her as a shield.
She told them about Sage and Jawan's plan to take out Savannah, and
advised Rizo to play his HII on Savannah. She also told them about
Kristina's HII. Savannah, in return, showed Sophie her advantage note indicating she has an extra vote. Rizo, Sophi, and Savannah decided to
switch from targeting Steven to targeting either Sage or Jawan. They let Sophie make the decision and she said she wanted Jawan out.

    Tribal Council

Rizo was the star of TC. There was some next level trolling by him and Savannah. I had to laugh when Jawan said someone was going to be
blindsided and he started describing Savannah. After everyone voted,
Jeff asked if anyone had an advantage or idol they wanted to play.
Kristina played her HII on Steven. This resulted in the shocked looks on
the jury members faces we saw in the preview last week. Rizo then stood
up and walked over to Jeff. He asked if he could address the "class."
Jeff looked bit pissed, but let Rizo talk. Rizo said he was playing his
idol for Savannah. Jeff looked at the idol and said "This is ... not an immunity idol." Savannah burst out laughing, and Sophie had a huge smile
on her face. Jawan tried to get Rizo to play his real HII.

Jeff the read out the votes. Jawan was booted by a 5rCo3rCo1 vote. Kristina voted for Rizo as planned. Rizo, Sophie, Sophi, and Savannah (2x) voted
for Jawan. Sage, Steven, and Jawan voted for Savannah. Sage was crying
when Jawan was voted out. He seemed pretty cool with being blindsided.
He also walked out with Rizo's torch. Nate noticed there was an extra vote.

Going into F7, Rizo still has his HII and Sophi has her KIP which no one
    knows about.

    Next Episode

Sophi tells Sage she wants to go after Rizo and Savannah, and Sage is
pissed at Sophie for smiling at TC!

    Here's an FYI from Sophi.

rCLBefore tribal I actually went through KristinarCOs bag and found her idol which is why we flipped the vote to jawan. But because those things look
like keychains now, I wasnrCOt sure what it was that I foundrCY #Survivor49 #Survivor

What was the point of the fake idol play by Rizo? It would be one thing
if he played the fake idol and then it caused Kristina to play her real
idol - that would actually be a good move. But she had already played
her idol. My first reaction was Rizo's fake idol made no sense and had
no effect except to create a cheap TV moment.

But then I saw a post from someone somewhere that suggested Riz played
the fake idol to gauge the effect it would have on everyone. When Jawan started begging him to play the real idol, that supposedly told him that
the vote wasn't really on him and they were hoping he would just play
the idol unnecessarily. Had the reaction been more resigned and
relieved that he wasn't playing a real idol, that would have triggered
him to play the real idol on himself at that point. I don't know if
Rizo is really that smart in reading others, but it's an interesting theory.

Yeah, and now that Kristina's idol is out of the game, it will be
interesting to see if her idol is re-buried and found. Otherwise, if
the only known idol going into final six is Rizo's, would Soph actually
    play her KIP on him?
    Next Episode

I hope they do. That would imply Sage, Steven, Kristina, and Lawan we're

    there was an extra vote.

Going into F7, Rizo still has his HII and Sophi has her KIP which no
    one knows about.

Yeah, and now that Kristina's idol is out of the game, it will be
interesting to see if her idol is re-buried and found.-a Otherwise, if
the only known idol going into final six is Rizo's, would Soph
actually play her KIP on him?

I'm pretty sure Kristina's HII will be rehidden.

    Next Episode

Sophi tells Sage she wants to go after Rizo and Savannah, and Sage is
pissed at Sophie for smiling at TC!

I think the going after Rizo and Savannah part is likely a mis-direct.

Totally agree. To me, it looks like Sage is going to make the same
mistake she did with Sophie. I can see Sage being the next to go if she doesn't win immunity or find an idol.

    Here's an FYI from Sophi.

rCLBefore tribal I actually went through KristinarCOs bag and found her >>> idol which is why we flipped the vote to jawan. But because those
things look like keychains now, I wasnrCOt sure what it was that I
    foundrCY #Survivor49 #Survivor

Be interesting if they end up showing that.

I hope they do. That would imply Sage, Steven, Kristina, and Lawan we're
all away from the camp at the same time. Were they doing some last
    minute strategizing before TC?

I'd also like to know what it was Rizo gave Jeff and where he got it
from. At first, I thought it was an actual idol.

Rizo obviously made a fake idol we did not see him making. I saw a post
from someone that if you watch closely in prior scenes, you can see Rizo pulling beads off of something that he no doubt used to fashion the
idol. I haven't gone back to try to verify that.

was playing it smart. Guess not.

We also get more confirmation that Savannah's alliance has brought
in Sophie as they ask for her input on who they should target next.

There's supposed to be an epic blindside tonight which probably
explains the shocked look of the jury in last episode's next on
Survivor preview. I wonder if we're going to be blindsided?

Fart talk returns tonight courtesy of Sage!

    More later.

To me, Sophie was clearly the star of the episode. She won
challenges, made a key decision, and fed her new alliance a ton of
key info that will probably destroy her old alliance.

    Reward Challenge

Finally a reward challenge involved a trip to The Sanctuary where
the winners got a backyard BBQ. Sophi's team which included Steven,
Sage, and Sophie won. At the reward, Sophie made an interesting
comment that they shouldn't focus on the others going hungry. She
said they should see their reward as a meal that might propel them
to a million dollars. She had a million dollar confessional later in
the episode as well. This was a very positive episode for Sophie.

The most important thing that happened at The Sanctuary was Sage
telling Sophie she wanted to get out Savannah and Sophie playing
    along with the plan.

    Immunity Challenge

Sophie was super impressive building the puzzle at the end. Steven
and Savannah were a head of her, but she quickly caught up and
solved that puzzle in no time. Savannah losing made Sage, Jawan,
etc. think they could easily get her out or Rizo if he played his
    HII on her.

A key moment in the episode and probably of the season, was when
Sophie decided she was going with Savannah's side as she needs her
as a shield. She told them about Sage and Jawan's plan to take out
Savannah, and advised Rizo to play his HII on Savannah. She also
told them about Kristina's HII. Savannah, in return, showed Sophie
her advantage note indicating she has an extra vote. Rizo, Sophi,
and Savannah decided to switch from targeting Steven to targeting
either Sage or Jawan. They let Sophie make the decision and she said
    she wanted Jawan out.

    Tribal Council

Rizo was the star of TC. There was some next level trolling by him
and Savannah. I had to laugh when Jawan said someone was going to be
blindsided and he started describing Savannah. After everyone voted,
Jeff asked if anyone had an advantage or idol they wanted to play.
Kristina played her HII on Steven. This resulted in the shocked
looks on the jury members faces we saw in the preview last week.
Rizo then stood up and walked over to Jeff. He asked if he could
address the "class." Jeff looked-a bit pissed, but let Rizo talk.
Rizo said he was playing his idol for Savannah. Jeff looked at the
idol and said "This is ... not an immunity idol." Savannah burst out
laughing, and Sophie had a huge smile on her face. Jawan tried to
get Rizo to play his real HII.

What was the point of the fake idol play by Rizo?-a It would be one
thing if he played the fake idol and then it caused Kristina to play
her real idol - that would actually be a good move.-a But she had
already played her idol.-a My first reaction was Rizo's fake idol made
no sense and had no effect except to create a cheap TV moment.

I think the four of them came up with that move for exactly the reason
you stated: a cheap TV move.

But then I saw a post from someone somewhere that suggested Riz
played the fake idol to gauge the effect it would have on everyone.
When Jawan started begging him to play the real idol, that supposedly
told him that the vote wasn't really on him and they were hoping he
would just play the idol unnecessarily.-a Had the reaction been more
resigned and relieved that he wasn't playing a real idol, that would
have triggered him to play the real idol on himself at that point.-a I
don't know if Rizo is really that smart in reading others, but it's
    an interesting theory.

That sounds like a very risky move. What if Jeff had said you only get
one shot to play an idol?

Since when has that been a rule?-a Didn't Malcolm famously play two idols
on his amigo friends?-a And for that matter, didn't Parvati do it first during H vs V?

They played real idols. My point is that Jeff might not have been
impressed with Rizo using production as a strategy by trying to play a
fake idol first to gauge whether or not he needed to play his real one..
Using production as strategy is against the rules in BB and players have
    been called on it.

Jeff the read out the votes. Jawan was booted by a 5rCo3rCo1 vote.
Kristina voted for Rizo as planned. Rizo, Sophie, Sophi, and
Savannah (2x) voted for Jawan. Sage, Steven, and Jawan voted for
Savannah. Sage was crying when Jawan was voted out. He seemed pretty
cool with being blindsided. He also walked out with Rizo's torch.

    treemail location.

Yeah, and now that Kristina's idol is out of the game, it will be
interesting to see if her idol is re-buried and found.-a Otherwise, >>>>> if the only known idol going into final six is Rizo's, would Soph
actually play her KIP on him?

I'm pretty sure Kristina's HII will be rehidden.

    Next Episode

Sophi tells Sage she wants to go after Rizo and Savannah, and Sage >>>>>> is pissed at Sophie for smiling at TC!

I think the going after Rizo and Savannah part is likely a mis-direct. >>>>
Totally agree. To me, it looks like Sage is going to make the same
mistake she did with Sophie. I can see Sage being the next to go if
she doesn't win immunity or find an idol.

    Here's an FYI from Sophi.

rCLBefore tribal I actually went through KristinarCOs bag and found >>>>>> her idol which is why we flipped the vote to jawan. But because
those things look like keychains now, I wasnrCOt sure what it was >>>>>> that I foundrCY #Survivor49 #Survivor

Be interesting if they end up showing that.

I hope they do. That would imply Sage, Steven, Kristina, and Lawan
we're all away from the camp at the same time. Were they doing some
    last minute strategizing before TC?

I'd also like to know what it was Rizo gave Jeff and where he got it
from. At first, I thought it was an actual idol.

Rizo obviously made a fake idol we did not see him making.-a I saw a
post from someone that if you watch closely in prior scenes, you can
see Rizo pulling beads off of something that he no doubt used to
fashion the idol.-a I haven't gone back to try to verify that.

Based on the deleted scene video of Sophie and Sophi checking to see
if Kristina has an idol, I'd say Rizo got his fake idol parts from the
    treemail location.

That sounds right.-a And based on the show's new style of flashback storytelling, I'm guessing we will see a flashback next episode of Riz creating the fake idol and maybe discussing with Savannah and Sophie- squared how they would deploy it.

I can see them doing that. It's pretty clear everything they did was
    planned out in advance.

I was going to mention it, but I'm sick and tired of seeing the nonstop bitching about it on X. The only player to mention it was MC. Nate was
screwed over by Jeff's love of randomness. If the 3x4 tribe shuffle
didn't happen, it's very possible Nate would still be in the game. Both

Here's something else that happened in Ep10 that kind of irks me. Why
didn't they show us Sophi(e)^2 rooting through Kristina's bag instead of
that stupid rice negotiation before the start of the IC? It was nice to
see Rizo make Jeff look dumb, but the bag scene had an actual impact on
the game. If we're lucky, we'll never see another rice negotiation again.

To me, Sophie was clearly the star of the episode. She won
challenges, made a key decision, and fed her new alliance a ton >>>>>>> of key info that will probably destroy her old alliance.

    Reward Challenge

Finally a reward challenge involved a trip to The Sanctuary where >>>>>>> the winners got a backyard BBQ. Sophi's team which included
Steven, Sage, and Sophie won. At the reward, Sophie made an
interesting comment that they shouldn't focus on the others going >>>>>>> hungry. She said they should see their reward as a meal that
might propel them to a million dollars. She had a million dollar >>>>>>> confessional later in the episode as well. This was a very
    positive episode for Sophie.

The most important thing that happened at The Sanctuary was Sage >>>>>>> telling Sophie she wanted to get out Savannah and Sophie playing >>>>>>> along with the plan.

    Immunity Challenge

Sophie was super impressive building the puzzle at the end.
Steven and Savannah were a head of her, but she quickly caught up >>>>>>> and solved that puzzle in no time. Savannah losing made Sage,
Jawan, etc. think they could easily get her out or Rizo if he
    played his HII on her.

A key moment in the episode and probably of the season, was when >>>>>>> Sophie decided she was going with Savannah's side as she needs
her as a shield. She told them about Sage and Jawan's plan to
take out Savannah, and advised Rizo to play his HII on Savannah. >>>>>>> She also told them about Kristina's HII. Savannah, in return,
showed Sophie her advantage note indicating she has an extra
vote. Rizo, Sophi, and Savannah decided to switch from targeting >>>>>>> Steven to targeting either Sage or Jawan. They let Sophie make
the decision and she said she wanted Jawan out.

    Tribal Council

Rizo was the star of TC. There was some next level trolling by
him and Savannah. I had to laugh when Jawan said someone was
going to be blindsided and he started describing Savannah. After >>>>>>> everyone voted, Jeff asked if anyone had an advantage or idol
they wanted to play. Kristina played her HII on Steven. This
resulted in the shocked looks on the jury members faces we saw in >>>>>>> the preview last week. Rizo then stood up and walked over to
Jeff. He asked if he could address the "class." Jeff looked-a bit >>>>>>> pissed, but let Rizo talk. Rizo said he was playing his idol for >>>>>>> Savannah. Jeff looked at the idol and said "This is ... not an
immunity idol." Savannah burst out laughing, and Sophie had a
huge smile on her face. Jawan tried to get Rizo to play his real >>>>>>> HII.

What was the point of the fake idol play by Rizo?-a It would be one >>>>>> thing if he played the fake idol and then it caused Kristina to
play her real idol - that would actually be a good move.-a But she >>>>>> had already played her idol.-a My first reaction was Rizo's fake
idol made no sense and had no effect except to create a cheap TV
    moment.

I think the four of them came up with that move for exactly the
reason you stated: a cheap TV move.

But then I saw a post from someone somewhere that suggested Riz
played the fake idol to gauge the effect it would have on
everyone. When Jawan started begging him to play the real idol,
that supposedly told him that the vote wasn't really on him and
they were hoping he would just play the idol unnecessarily.-a Had >>>>>> the reaction been more resigned and relieved that he wasn't
playing a real idol, that would have triggered him to play the
real idol on himself at that point.-a I don't know if Rizo is
really that smart in reading others, but it's an interesting theory. >>>>>
That sounds like a very risky move. What if Jeff had said you only
get one shot to play an idol?

Since when has that been a rule?-a Didn't Malcolm famously play two
idols on his amigo friends?-a And for that matter, didn't Parvati do
it first during H vs V?

They played real idols. My point is that Jeff might not have been
impressed with Rizo using production as a strategy by trying to play
a fake idol first to gauge whether or not he needed to play his real
one.. Using production as strategy is against the rules in BB and
players have been called on it.

I don't think that's the case here.-a Jeff loves it when players make
fake idols - I think he has said that's one of the reasons the idols
look so simplistic nowadays.-a He loves saying dramatically "This is
NOT a real immunity idol".-a I'm surprised he didn't toss the fake idol
into the fire as he has done in the past (or maybe he did that and I
    just missed it).

He set down whatever it was Rizo gave him.

And besides, the rules spell out how and when idols can be played, and
I think it says something like they can be played anytime up to when
Jeff starts reading the votes.-a I don't think there is any restriction
on playing fake idols or playing both fake and real idols.

I'd love for Jeff to be asked about this because to me it sounds crazy
that a player should be allowed to test the waters so-to-speak to see whether or not they need to play their real idol. Isn't that the purpose
of TC up until they vote?

Honestly, if Jeff gave an honest answer I think he would say the purpose
of TC is to make good TV. That's why he allows "live tribals" and
players walking around and having private convos and why he allowed Rizo
to do his little shtick about "can I speak to the class, Jeff?" In the
early days of the show that would have either not been allowed or it
would have been edited out. But I think a big part of the "New Era" is
Jeff loves spontaneity and that's why I think he loves it when players
test the limits by making fake idols and negotiating deals at challenges.

Jeff the read out the votes. Jawan was booted by a 5rCo3rCo1 vote. >>>>>>> Kristina voted for Rizo as planned. Rizo, Sophie, Sophi, and
Savannah (2x) voted for Jawan. Sage, Steven, and Jawan voted for >>>>>>> Savannah. Sage was crying when Jawan was voted out. He seemed
pretty cool with being blindsided. He also walked out with Rizo's >>>>>>> torch. Nate noticed there was an extra vote.
