I was not expecting to see two immunity necklaces up for grab. The
Savannah haters will no doubt say they did so to give her a better
chance at winning immunity. Once again, Rizo sucked at the challenge
being the first out. Steven won the men's Immunity necklace leaving
Sophie vs. Savannah for the second IC in a row. I was impressed when
Jeff said they had passed the 40 minute mark. I think Savannah got in Sophie's head with all the smack talk. In most other seasons, Sophie
would have won the last two challenges, but Savannah's a beast.

A tweet from Savannah about the IC.
Actually before the challenge began, production had all of us take our positions and measured the angle of our knees with a protractor to
ensure it was fair. Why is everyone trying to discredit my wins lol #Survivor49 #weird

The start of the episode was unique. I don't recall them ever showing us
the non-TC players at camp speculating about who might get voted out
while the others are at TC. There were some bad reads and a lot of cockiness. Kristina had a lot of bad reads tonight. Not being able to
hide their disappointment that MC was voted out and saying openly that
they hoped it was Sophie if it wasn't Rizo was very bad game play.
Probably made it easy for Sophie to side with Savannah's gang.
Reward Challenge
Fried chicken, fries, dessert, and soft drinks. Have these guys not been getting beer this season? Kristina giving up her spot at the reward to
Jawan made no sense to me. Jawan needing to be convinced to take her
spot made even less sense. Dude, if you haven't eaten in 16 days then go
for it. If Kristina makes it to F3 she'll be expecting to receive
Jawan's vote. Surprisingly, there was no indication that anyone looked
for an advantage at the food reward. Did Kristina and Jawan not consider that possibility?
In what might end up being a pivotal moment in the game, Savannah told
Sophi she used to be a TV anchor and reporter. She also told her she had
not told Rizo. Is Sophi Savannah's real #1 now? I think she is as trust
is everything in Survivor.

Tribal Council
Savannah's clearly comfortable with the cameras and talking in front of people. Rizo knows what to say to get screen time. And good for Alex for admitting he was caught playing both sides after he was voted out. It
looked like he had fun playing the game. It also looked like he was
totally out of the loop as to what was going on as he was the oly to
vote for Rizo. Were Steven and Kristina played as well?
Next Episode
I think I heard Sophi say "I think I'm next" in a worried voice.
Something weird/shocking must happen based on the reaction of the jury.
Some more comments:
--I'd like to know why Jawan thinks he and Sage are the core of the
people left?
--Jawan seemed very impressed with MC. lol
--More blackhead talk from Sage tonight, but no pee comments. :-(
--Sophi seems openly affectionate with Savannah, even with others
present. Are these blind? Tonight, when she gave Savannah a hug, Alex
was sitting right beside Rizo and didn't seem to react at all. I'd be thinking those two are friendly with each other and likely working
together.
--Sophie impressed me again tonight. It sucks she was under edited the
first 40% of the game.
--Savannah remains the star of the season. She's dominating pretty well
all aspects of the game. For me, Sophi's playing a better game than
Rizo. Strategically, she's playing a great game. Rizo stands out because
of his cockiness and pregame hype. If Rizo or Savannah don't win, I
think Sophi will.

Which may end up hurting her game.

She may be playing a better game than Rizo but if the two end up at
the final TC against each other Rizo has the much better story. Much
of what has happened in the past few episodes happened because of
Rizo.

They've shown tribes before in pre-merge speculating about who got voted
out by the other tribe, but it's usually the next morning.

Jawan not consider that possibility?
I'm sure the players ALWAYS look for an advantage at the food challenge,
but they don't always show it if they didn't find anything (or it wasn't there in the first place).
Regarding the beer, it's pretty well-known that alcohol consumption in
the US has declined significantly in recent years, as people are
becoming more health conscious, and I think the show is just following
suit.
Kristina giving her reward place to Jawan was bizarre and I can't see
any real justification for it.-a The point of the show is to outlast everyone else, and you don't do that by not taking a food reward and allowing someone else to take it.-a Does she really think Jawan will
throw her a vote if she makes it to final three?
In what might end up being a pivotal moment in the game, Savannah told
Sophi she used to be a TV anchor and reporter. She also told her she
had not told Rizo. Is Sophi Savannah's real #1 now? I think she is as
trust is everything in Survivor.
I agree that was pretty startling.-a It makes sense that Savannah may
feel personally closer to Sophi, and I think you're right that they are
now number ones to one another.-a It makes me wonder about Soph's
Knowledge is Power advantage.-a Logically, the person to use it on at
some point would be Riz-boy, but will she ever use it on him?-a She
doesn't know about Kristina's idol, right?
Immunity Challenge
I was not expecting to see two immunity necklaces up for grab. The

Sophie's head with all the smack talk. In most other seasons, Sophie

Awarding separate necklaces to the top male and top female is bizarre
and I'm surprised they did that.-a If the show is planned far in advance
as they claim, how did they know there would still be multiple people
from each gender by this point in the show?
Also, they have had transgender and gender fluid people on the show in
the past (some of whom may not have been known in advance), so I'm a bit surprised in the DEI era that the show would call out gender so
explicitly like this.

Rizo continues to impress me with the astute way he has refrained from playing his idol.-a He really seems to have a sense of where the vote
will go each episode.

Something weird/shocking must happen based on the reaction of the jury.
Some more comments:
--I'd like to know why Jawan thinks he and Sage are the core of the
people left?
Maybe because the two of them have been on the correct side of every
vote so far?-a And Jawan specifically has voted correctly in all six of
the TCs he has been to, which is pretty impressive.-a Sage has voted correctly in all four of her TCs.-a The only other player to have voted correctly each time is Sophie, but she has only been to three TCs.
--Jawan seemed very impressed with MC. lol
--More blackhead talk from Sage tonight, but no pee comments. :-(
I'm sure she's still talking about body functions, but the show is
wisely just not showing it all.-a-a Even ignoring the other spoilers about who goes far in the game, Sage would never be edited this way if she actually won the game.
--Sophi seems openly affectionate with Savannah, even with others
present. Are these blind? Tonight, when she gave Savannah a hug, Alex
was sitting right beside Rizo and didn't seem to react at all. I'd be

The whole tribe seems pretty huggy with one another.

She's kind of like the Gen of this season in that respect.

I think that's right.-a But I also think Riz has been playing a pretty
smart game, both with his ability to know when not to play his idol and
also the way he pretty skillfully threw Alex under the bus and
engineered his vote out.

I agree she has never really been shown as being mean, but Sage did
express the opinion that she was mean and I think there was some
discussion on Hina maybe with Kristina about her having "mean girl
energy", whatever that is.-a I actually don't see it at all.

I agree completely.-a She is clearly the star of the season and may end
up as one of the most dominant women on the show ever.
