• Survivor 49 players reveal whom they would have cast on season 50

They were asked whom they would have cast before S49 started. There's
some interesting picks and some that are very predictable such as
Kristina choosing Cirie. Sophi's choice is the most unexpected to me.

At least Sophi's choice won the game. And Soph is correct she never had
a chance to return and prove if it was just a fluke. Weirdly, Jamal
also chose a player from that same season - Sean Rector. I never cared
much for Sean (or Vee), but I can see some logic in bringing them back
at some point since they each only got to play the one time.

The ones I don't really get are Savannah choosing Jonny Fairplay and
Jason picking Randy. Both have played multiple seasons and I can
honestly state I have no interest in ever seeing either again.

also chose a player from that same season --a Sean Rector.-a I never cared much for Sean (or Vee), but I can see some logic in bringing them back

I'm not questioning Sophi's choice. I'm just surprised she went so far
back in time and chose someone who is not considered iconic. Her logic
for choosing Vecepia is solid. Jawan choosing Sean Rector is weird.
The ones I don't really get are Savannah choosing Jonny Fairplay and
Jason picking Randy.-a Both have played multiple seasons and I can
honestly state I have no interest in ever seeing either again.
Savannah choosing Fairplay could be an indication that she's willing to
    do anything to win.
Another choice I found interesting was Nate choosing Chrissy. When
Dalton was asking this question I wonder if he thought to himself
"There's no way in hell Chrissy Hofbeck will be chosen"? I sure wasn't expecting to see her as one of the choices.

Did you notice that Kenz and Rachel were chosen, but Kyle and Dee were not?

Maybe. The one big difference is that Fairplay told an outright lie on
the show and seemed to be enjoying being a character. Savannah has
apparently withheld facts about her career, but she she was seemingly
honest in talking about an incident from her job that affected her
profoundly. She seems more authentic than Fairplay ever did,

I fully expected Chrissy to be chosen since she was such a challenge
beast on her season and one of the stronger runners-up in the show's
    history.

Did you notice that Kenz and Rachel were chosen, but Kyle and Dee were not?

Yes. I also found it interesting that Charlie was the only player
chosen twice by the players. Not sure if any of that really means
anything, but it was definitely interesting.

It was interesting, especially with MC being one of the two to choose
him. I also thought it was interesting that no one picked the two
players actually chosen from S46 and S47. Sophie(?) did mention Gen in
her reasoning for choosing Rachel so she wasn't totally off the radar
    screen.

were sequestered, so the players would not have seen Kyle's ascent in
    the game and eventual win.

I guess that just goes to show that the players are using different
criteria from Jeff and the show in making their choices. For the most
part, I think the players are picking previous players they admire or
want to emulate in their playing styles or whom they just enjoyed
watching. Jeff, on the other hand, has said he wanted players who have
a love for the game and a positive attitude toward being on the show.
He is also picking players, frankly, who he thinks will make good TV and
    be entertaining.

Looks like S49 was filmed from April 20 to May 15, 2025. They would have missed a good chunk of the season. I didn't know they shot S49 earlier
    than normal.

100% agree with your last point. For example, Q was no doubt chosen
because he's great TV, not because he was a strategic mastermind or comp beast.

You're probably right about the criteria the S49 players used to make
their S50 choices. I think how long they've been a fan also factored
    into their decisions.
