Zeppo, if you haven't watched the episode yet you should have some
Kleenex ready for when you do.

I thought tonight's episode was great and sets up what could be a great
    end run for the season.

The HII MC played last TC was found very early in the episode. Alex
wanted it badly, but made the mistake of asking Jawan and Kristina to
help him look for it. Kristina found it and didn't have to do anything
extra to get it. Early on in the game it looked liked she would be an
early boot. Now, it looks like Kristina could last deep into the game.
No one's targeting her and her social game is pretty solid.

Savannah went on an apology tour trying to mend fences. It didn't work.
We then saw Savannah breakdown crying in a confessional over how Sage is trying to paint her as a mean girl when she (Sage) is the one with the
knife. Savannah then told Steven how she was psychology abused by her colleagues at a TV station for two years because they thought she stole
their colleagues job. This led to more crying. I believe that scene
confirms that she told the others she is/was a TV reporter.

This was a great lead in going into the IC. Savannah was clearly at the
bottom and needed to win immunity. Then Jeff dropped the tribe split
into two teams twist on them. Rizo was not impressive at all being the
first out on his team. At one point I thought Sophi might win with God's
help. God had other plans. It came down to Sophie vs. Savannah with
Savannah winning. Sophie was impressive as that challenge favors smaller people.

Savannah's team won immunity and a food reward. Savannah also won an advantage. I don't recall ever seeing this before, Jeff did not give
Savannah the Immunity necklace at the challenge. She got it at the water
well along with her advantage. And what an advantage! The advantage
allowed her to go to the losing tribe's camp, to their TC, and to either
cast a vote or save it for later use. She went from being at the bottom
    to having major power.

When she got to the loser's camp she told them about her advantage, but
left out she could keep her vote. She told Riz who immediately started plotting to flip the script on the others. Luckily for him and Savannah,
the other four did not fully trust each other. Sophie told MC she was
going to vote for Jawan in case Rizo did play his HII. MC then told
Jawan. Sophie explained her reasoning to Jawan which sounded good to me.
Jawan ended up going to Sage saying he wanted to side with Riz and
Savannah for now to take out Sophie because she's a comp threat.

Going into TC it was obvious it was either going to be MC or Sophie
going home. Just as Jeff was saying "It's time to vote," MC went into
panic mode and went over to talk to Rizo. It was too late to save
herself. MC was booted by a vote of 4rCo1. She voted for Sophie. Savannah saved her extra vote. Rizo was never worried about Sophie being a
challenge beast reasoning she won't win everything.

    Next Episode

Looks like Riz, Sophi, and Savannah are still a tight three.

To me, it looks like Sage is in a tough spot now. She wants Riz and
Savannah gone bad, but doesn't have full commitment from anyone to join
her. Jawan is going to float to which ever side he thinks has power, and
I don't think she fully trusts Sophie or Steven.

I thought tonight's episode was great and sets up what could be a great

I agree. This is definitely setting up as a great season, which again
makes me really regret the spoilers about who gets picked for next
season. I would much have preferred watching this season without
knowing in advance about two players who were perceived as the stars of
    the season.

The HII MC played last TC was found very early in the episode. Alex
wanted it badly, but made the mistake of asking Jawan and Kristina to

She definitely has zero-vote F3 goat written all over her, unless she
gets put into fire at F4 and eliminated, which is unlikely. I can
easily imagine a final three of Savannah, Rizzo and Kristina, with
    Savannah the likely winner

Savannah went on an apology tour trying to mend fences. It didn't work.
We then saw Savannah breakdown crying in a confessional over how Sage is trying to paint her as a mean girl when she (Sage) is the one with the knife. Savannah then told Steven how she was psychology abused by her colleagues at a TV station for two years because they thought she stole their colleagues job. This led to more crying. I believe that scene
confirms that she told the others she is/was a TV reporter.

I watched that scene again and she was very careful not to mention to
Steven that she was a reporter. It was immediately followed by a
confessional where she referenced being a reporter to the camera, but so
far nothing on the show has indicated she disclosed her prior job to anyone.

This was a great lead in going into the IC. Savannah was clearly at the bottom and needed to win immunity. Then Jeff dropped the tribe split
into two teams twist on them. Rizo was not impressive at all being the
first out on his team. At one point I thought Sophi might win with God's help. God had other plans. It came down to Sophie vs. Savannah with
Savannah winning. Sophie was impressive as that challenge favors smaller people.

She was great, and I have to say that at several points both during the challenge and afterward, she reminded me a lot of Parvati. She looks a
lot like Parv with the same smile and demeanor, and in some ways she
seems to have a lot of the same game-playing techniques, minus Parv's trademark flirting.

Savannah's team won immunity and a food reward. Savannah also won an advantage. I don't recall ever seeing this before, Jeff did not give Savannah the Immunity necklace at the challenge. She got it at the water well along with her advantage. And what an advantage! The advantage

    to having major power.

Yeah, I totally didn't get why he didn't give her the necklace at the challenge, since it was obvious that she had won.

And I agree - I don't recall that particular reward ever being given
out before. Did you notice in the wording on the parchment that the
extra vote expires at final six, not final five like the immunity idols?
I don't know why they make that distinction, unless it's that they
don't want to see a 3-3 vote split at final five, but why they would
    want that, I don't know.

I thought it was highly likely she would save the extra vote for later
rather than waste it on a vote where she had immunity. I get that she
might have used it to save Rizzo if she thought he was in trouble, but
of course as viewers, we know Riz has plot armor and likely wasn't going
home this episode. Again, damn the spoilers.

When she got to the loser's camp she told them about her advantage, but
left out she could keep her vote. She told Riz who immediately started plotting to flip the script on the others. Luckily for him and Savannah,
the other four did not fully trust each other. Sophie told MC she was

Agree on all counts. My guess is Sage or Sophie is probably next to do,
with Jawan and Steven hanging on a bit. Soph (with an i) is looking
good and might make it to F4 at minimum.

I'm not sure about F3. Her edit would need to become more visible if
she's going to make it to the end. If she does, she's definitely the
    zero-vote player.

Savannah went on an apology tour trying to mend fences. It didn't

I need to watch again. I thought she said to Steven it was an on camera position? I'll check and see if people like Dalton and Mike Bloom were
allowed to interview her. Similar to the big Joe and Eva episode last
    season.

This was a great lead in going into the IC. Savannah was clearly at
the bottom and needed to win immunity. Then Jeff dropped the tribe

think Sophie's been a victim of her tribes' success. She didn't go to TC
until the merge happened and since then, she's been pretty upfront in
    the edit.

advantage do expire around F6. An extra vote at F5 would be way too
    powerful.

If Savannah tells Sophi about her extra vote Sophi will have a lot of
power. The question is can she use the info she has to her advantage?

    Some more comments from me.

--What happened to Nate? He literally looked like a different person.
    Was that really him?

--Saw a tweet from Dalton saying MC said she whispered to Jawan at TC
that Sophie has a secret vote and that she did not want black people to
be the first two jurors. That explains why she's been playing the race
card on X. I wish someone would tell her she was voted out because she
was untrustworthy, not because she's black.

--Rob Cesternio's book must be doing great in presales. Jeff had a plug (paid?) for his book last night and the book now has it's own website
    just like Rob's.

--Did you notice the mistake where they had "Yellow Sophi" on the
screen? Hard to say if it was a typo or if the person captioning dialog
didn't know Sophi is "Blue Sophi."

No, she only told Steven about being on a team and never mentioned what
the job was. The show quickly shifted to a confessional which is where
    she said the on-camera part.

I didn't really equate it to the Joe-Eva scene because it was so fast.
I checked the time-stamps and her entire discussion with Steven only
lasted about 30 seconds. The Joe-Eva scene was a real segment.

No, I was talking about Savannah, not Sophie. I thought Savannah was

    More later ...

Zeppo, if you haven't watched the episode yet you should have some
Kleenex ready for when you do.

I thought tonight's episode was great and sets up what could be a
great end run for the season.

I agree.-a This is definitely setting up as a great season, which
again makes me really regret the spoilers about who gets picked for
next season.-a I would much have preferred watching this season
without knowing in advance about two players who were perceived as
    the stars of the season.

Without the spoilers last night's episode would have been even more
    impressive.

The HII MC played last TC was found very early in the episode. Alex
wanted it badly, but made the mistake of asking Jawan and Kristina
to help him look for it. Kristina found it and didn't have to do
anything extra to get it. Early on in the game it looked liked she
would be an early boot. Now, it looks like Kristina could last deep
into the game. No one's targeting her and her social game is pretty
    solid.

She definitely has zero-vote F3 goat written all over her, unless she
gets put into fire at F4 and eliminated, which is unlikely.-a I can
easily imagine a final three of Savannah, Rizzo and Kristina, with
    Savannah the likely winner

I'm not sure about F3. Her edit would need to become more visible if
she's going to make it to the end. If she does, she's definitely the
    zero-vote player.

Savannah went on an apology tour trying to mend fences. It didn't
work. We then saw Savannah breakdown crying in a confessional over
how Sage is trying to paint her as a mean girl when she (Sage) is
the one with the knife. Savannah then told Steven how she was
psychology abused by her colleagues at a TV station for two years
because they thought she stole their colleagues job. This led to
more crying. I believe that scene confirms that she told the others
    she is/was a TV reporter.

I watched that scene again and she was very careful not to mention to
Steven that she was a reporter.-a It was immediately followed by a
confessional where she referenced being a reporter to the camera, but
so far nothing on the show has indicated she disclosed her prior job
    to anyone.

I need to watch again. I thought she said to Steven it was an on
camera position? I'll check and see if people like Dalton and Mike
Bloom were allowed to interview her. Similar to the big Joe and Eva
    episode last season.

No, she only told Steven about being on a team and never mentioned what
the job was.-a The show quickly shifted to a confessional which is where
    she said the on-camera part.

I didn't really equate it to the Joe-Eva scene because it was so fast. I checked the time-stamps and her entire discussion with Steven only
lasted about 30 seconds.-a The Joe-Eva scene was a real segment.

This was a great lead in going into the IC. Savannah was clearly at
the bottom and needed to win immunity. Then Jeff dropped the tribe
split into two teams twist on them. Rizo was not impressive at all
being the first out on his team. At one point I thought Sophi might
win with God's help. God had other plans. It came down to Sophie vs.
Savannah with Savannah winning. Sophie was impressive as that
    challenge favors smaller people.

She was great, and I have to say that at several points both during
the challenge and afterward, she reminded me a lot of Parvati.-a She
looks a lot like Parv with the same smile and demeanor, and in some
ways she seems to have a lot of the same game-playing techniques,
    minus Parv's trademark flirting.

I haven't noticed any similarities between Sophie and Parv. Edit wise,
I think Sophie's been a victim of her tribes' success. She didn't go
to TC until the merge happened and since then, she's been pretty
    upfront in the edit.

No, I was talking about Savannah, not Sophie.-a I thought Savannah was really channeling Parvati, both in looks (their smiles are virtually identical) as well as demeanor.

I thought you were talking about Sophie because when I said she was
impressive you said she was great. Yes, Savannah does have some Parv traits.

Savannah's team won immunity and a food reward. Savannah also won an
advantage. I don't recall ever seeing this before, Jeff did not give
Savannah the Immunity necklace at the challenge. She got it at the
water well along with her advantage. And what an advantage! The
advantage allowed her to go to the losing tribe's camp, to their TC,
and to either cast a vote or save it for later use. She went from
being at the bottom to having major power.

Yeah, I totally didn't get why he didn't give her the necklace at the
challenge, since it was obvious that she had won.

Especially given that the necklace was there at the challenge.

And I agree --a I don't recall that particular reward ever being given
out before.-a Did you notice in the wording on the parchment that the
extra vote expires at final six, not final five like the immunity
idols? -a-aI don't know why they make that distinction, unless it's
that they don't want to see a 3-3 vote split at final five, but why
they would want that, I don't know.

No, I did not notice that the extra vote expires at F6. Normally
advantage do expire around F6. An extra vote at F5 would be way too
    powerful.

I thought it was highly likely she would save the extra vote for
later rather than waste it on a vote where she had immunity.-a I get
that she might have used it to save Rizzo if she thought he was in
trouble, but of course as viewers, we know Riz has plot armor and
likely wasn't going home this episode.-a Again, damn the spoilers.

Once Jawan told Sage he wanted to hold off on going after Riz and
Savannah, it was obvious that Savannah would not use her extra vote.

When she got to the loser's camp she told them about her advantage,
but left out she could keep her vote. She told Riz who immediately
started plotting to flip the script on the others. Luckily for him
and Savannah, the other four did not fully trust each other. Sophie
told MC she was going to vote for Jawan in case Rizo did play his
HII. MC then told Jawan. Sophie explained her reasoning to Jawan
which sounded good to me. Jawan ended up going to Sage saying he
wanted to side with Riz and Savannah for now to take out Sophie
    because she's a comp threat.

Going into TC it was obvious it was either going to be MC or Sophie
going home. Just as Jeff was saying "It's time to vote," MC went
into panic mode and went over to talk to Rizo. It was too late to
save herself. MC was booted by a vote of 4rCo1. She voted for Sophie. >>>> Savannah saved her extra vote. Rizo was never worried about Sophie
being a challenge beast reasoning she won't win everything.

    Next Episode

Looks like Riz, Sophi, and Savannah are still a tight three.

To me, it looks like Sage is in a tough spot now. She wants Riz and
Savannah gone bad, but doesn't have full commitment from anyone to
join her. Jawan is going to float to which ever side he thinks has
power, and I don't think she fully trusts Sophie or Steven.

Agree on all counts.-a My guess is Sage or Sophie is probably next to
do, with Jawan and Steven hanging on a bit.-a Soph (with an i) is
looking good and might make it to F4 at minimum.
If Savannah tells Sophi about her extra vote Sophi will have a lot of
power. The question is can she use the info she has to her advantage?

    Some more comments from me.

--What happened to Nate? He literally looked like a different person.
    Was that really him?

It's all in the hat.-a Really made him look different.

Shaving also made a big difference. At least for me.

--Saw a tweet from Dalton saying MC said she whispered to Jawan at TC
that Sophie has a secret vote and that she did not want black people
to be the first two jurors. That explains why she's been playing the
race card on X. I wish someone would tell her she was voted out
because she was untrustworthy, not because she's black.

That's interesting, but also very disappointing.-a I wonder if she had
made racial remarks during the game that were edited out?

Very disappointing. Unless other players say something, I doubt we'll
ever find out if she made racial remarks.

She was the second of the alternates added to the cast last-minute,
which means she was not in the primary group selected for the season. Interesting that neither of the substitutes made it deep into the
season.-a Guess in a way that's a tribute to the casting process

S49: "Season of the Alternates." Sage was an alternate for S47 and
Sophie for S48 according to some S48 players.

--Rob Cesternio's book must be doing great in presales. Jeff had a
plug (paid?) for his book last night and the book now has it's own
    website just like Rob's.

Yes, his site is called robhasabook.com.-a I didn't see the plug from Jeff.-a If it was aired during commercial breaks, I never look at them.

It did air during a commercial break. It did not look like a commercial
to me. It looked slapped together and somehow got inserted. It was
pretty short. Jeff's website is survivor50book.com.

--Did you notice the mistake where they had "Yellow Sophi" on the
screen? Hard to say if it was a typo or if the person captioning
dialog didn't know Sophi is "Blue Sophi."

I did see that.-a I just assumed whoever did the captions confused the names.

Or is not a fan of Sophi.

    minus Parv's trademark flirting.

I haven't noticed any similarities between Sophie and Parv. Edit
wise, I think Sophie's been a victim of her tribes' success. She
didn't go to TC until the merge happened and since then, she's been
    pretty upfront in the edit.

No, I was talking about Savannah, not Sophie.-a I thought Savannah was
really channeling Parvati, both in looks (their smiles are virtually
    identical) as well as demeanor.

I thought you were talking about Sophie because when I said she was
impressive you said she was great. Yes, Savannah does have some Parv
    traits.

Yeah, I should have been more clear.-a Sophie was good too, but Savannah made it really look effortless.-a I was totally thinking of Savannah when
    I wrote that comment.

Regarding the Parv similarity, there were just a couple of scenes where
she is smiling/laughing where she really reminded me of Parv.

Savannah's team won immunity and a food reward. Savannah also won >>>>>> an advantage. I don't recall ever seeing this before, Jeff did not >>>>>> give Savannah the Immunity necklace at the challenge. She got it
at the water well along with her advantage. And what an advantage! >>>>>> The advantage allowed her to go to the losing tribe's camp, to
their TC, and to either cast a vote or save it for later use. She >>>>>> went from being at the bottom to having major power.

Yeah, I totally didn't get why he didn't give her the necklace at
the challenge, since it was obvious that she had won.

Especially given that the necklace was there at the challenge.

And I agree --a I don't recall that particular reward ever being
given out before.-a Did you notice in the wording on the parchment
that the extra vote expires at final six, not final five like the
immunity idols? -a-aI don't know why they make that distinction,
unless it's that they don't want to see a 3-3 vote split at final
five, but why they would want that, I don't know.

No, I did not notice that the extra vote expires at F6. Normally
advantage do expire around F6. An extra vote at F5 would be way too
    powerful.

I thought it was highly likely she would save the extra vote for
later rather than waste it on a vote where she had immunity.-a I get >>>>> that she might have used it to save Rizzo if she thought he was in
trouble, but of course as viewers, we know Riz has plot armor and
likely wasn't going home this episode.-a Again, damn the spoilers.

Once Jawan told Sage he wanted to hold off on going after Riz and
Savannah, it was obvious that Savannah would not use her extra vote.

When she got to the loser's camp she told them about her
advantage, but left out she could keep her vote. She told Riz who >>>>>> immediately started plotting to flip the script on the others.
Luckily for him and Savannah, the other four did not fully trust
each other. Sophie told MC she was going to vote for Jawan in case >>>>>> Rizo did play his HII. MC then told Jawan. Sophie explained her
reasoning to Jawan which sounded good to me. Jawan ended up going >>>>>> to Sage saying he wanted to side with Riz and Savannah for now to >>>>>> take out Sophie because she's a comp threat.

Going into TC it was obvious it was either going to be MC or
Sophie going home. Just as Jeff was saying "It's time to vote," MC >>>>>> went into panic mode and went over to talk to Rizo. It was too
late to save herself. MC was booted by a vote of 4rCo1. She voted >>>>>> for Sophie. Savannah saved her extra vote. Rizo was never worried >>>>>> about Sophie being a challenge beast reasoning she won't win
    everything.

    Next Episode

Looks like Riz, Sophi, and Savannah are still a tight three.

To me, it looks like Sage is in a tough spot now. She wants Riz
and Savannah gone bad, but doesn't have full commitment from
anyone to join her. Jawan is going to float to which ever side he >>>>>> thinks has power, and I don't think she fully trusts Sophie or
    Steven.

Agree on all counts.-a My guess is Sage or Sophie is probably next
to do, with Jawan and Steven hanging on a bit.-a Soph (with an i) is >>>>> looking good and might make it to F4 at minimum.
If Savannah tells Sophi about her extra vote Sophi will have a lot
of power. The question is can she use the info she has to her
    advantage?

    Some more comments from me.

--What happened to Nate? He literally looked like a different
    person. Was that really him?

It's all in the hat.-a Really made him look different.

Shaving also made a big difference. At least for me.

Agree.-a There is one shot at the end that made me think it was Barack Obama.

--Saw a tweet from Dalton saying MC said she whispered to Jawan at
TC that Sophie has a secret vote and that she did not want black
people to be the first two jurors. That explains why she's been
playing the race card on X. I wish someone would tell her she was
voted out because she was untrustworthy, not because she's black.

That's interesting, but also very disappointing.-a I wonder if she had
made racial remarks during the game that were edited out?

Very disappointing. Unless other players say something, I doubt we'll
ever find out if she made racial remarks.

Her exit interviews should all be out by tomorrow, so it will be
interesting to see what she says.-a Rob, at minimum, will almost
certainly ask what all the whispering at TC was all about.

Yes, his site is called robhasabook.com.-a I didn't see the plug from
Jeff.-a If it was aired during commercial breaks, I never look at them.

It did air during a commercial break. It did not look like a
commercial to me. It looked slapped together and somehow got inserted.
It was pretty short. Jeff's website is survivor50book.com.

Found it.-a Jeff does say in the spot the book will include his "personal field notes and reflections", so that could be pretty interesting,
depending on how much he shares.

The how much he shares will be key. Based on the pages they showed I
doubt he'll share much. Probably doesn't want to share too much while
the show is still in production.

That's a really good point. The show does go out of its way not to
reveal all the behind the scene details of how casting is done, how they
go through the process of creating challenges and show gimmicks like challenges, how players are prepped for the show and what the
interactions are between players and producers, etc. I'm certainly not
going to waste money on a glossy, over-priced book on the off-chance
there might be some tidbits in it. But the good news is that people
like Dalton and Mike B. will no doubt get a copy of the book on their employers' dime and will comb through it looking for goodies. So I'm
sure when it comes out we will get a good idea of whether any new info
    is revealed. Ditto Rob's book.

The challenges are all laid out and planned in advance. If they were to
make changes on the fly to aid a particular player, I believe they would actually be violating federal laws on game show protocols. Could they
get away with it? Maybe - but why would they take a chance like that?
As soon as one or two disgruntled show employees talked about it, that
could be the end of the franchise. I just don't see any evidence of
    them doing that.

--What happened to Nate? He literally looked like a different

It's all in the hat.-a Really made him look different.

Shaving also made a big difference. At least for me.

Agree.-a There is one shot at the end that made me think it was Barack
    Obama.

--Saw a tweet from Dalton saying MC said she whispered to Jawan at >>>>>> TC that Sophie has a secret vote and that she did not want black
people to be the first two jurors. That explains why she's been
playing the race card on X. I wish someone would tell her she was >>>>>> voted out because she was untrustworthy, not because she's black.

That's interesting, but also very disappointing.-a I wonder if she
had made racial remarks during the game that were edited out?

Very disappointing. Unless other players say something, I doubt
we'll ever find out if she made racial remarks.

Her exit interviews should all be out by tomorrow, so it will be
interesting to see what she says.-a Rob, at minimum, will almost
certainly ask what all the whispering at TC was all about.

She was the second of the alternates added to the cast last-minute, >>>>> which means she was not in the primary group selected for the
season. Interesting that neither of the substitutes made it deep

S49: "Season of the Alternates." Sage was an alternate for S47 and

--Rob Cesternio's book must be doing great in presales. Jeff had a >>>>>> plug (paid?) for his book last night and the book now has it's own >>>>>> website just like Rob's.

Yes, his site is called robhasabook.com.-a I didn't see the plug

It did air during a commercial break. It did not look like a
commercial to me. It looked slapped together and somehow got
inserted. It was pretty short. Jeff's website is survivor50book.com.

Found it.-a Jeff does say in the spot the book will include his
"personal field notes and reflections", so that could be pretty
interesting, depending on how much he shares.

The how much he shares will be key. Based on the pages they showed I
doubt he'll share much. Probably doesn't want to share too much while
the show is still in production.

That's a really good point.-a The show does go out of its way not to
reveal all the behind the scene details of how casting is done, how they
go through the process of creating challenges and show gimmicks like challenges, how players are prepped for the show and what the
interactions are between players and producers, etc.-a I'm certainly not going to waste money on a glossy, over-priced book on the off-chance
there might be some tidbits in it.-a But the good news is that people
like Dalton and Mike B. will no doubt get a copy of the book on their employers' dime and will comb through it looking for goodies.-a So I'm
sure when it comes out we will get a good idea of whether any new info
    is revealed.-a Ditto Rob's book.

Jeff will probably also give up more info when he's plugging the book. Probably more than is actually in the book. A book with 200 photos
doesn't really interest me. Maybe we'll luck out and Rob's book will
have some good stories that we haven't heard before.

I watched the first 19 minutes and 45 seconds, then shut it down.
That particular challenge favours people who are lightweights with
small feet. The fact that Production chose to use it on the day that
Savannah was in serious danger of being voted out looked like
blatant favouritism from my perspective. I can deal with people
who I may not necessarily like winning the game fair and square,
but this was too much. IrCOm done with 49.

Sophi's just as small as Savannah. The transition between footholds can
slip anyone. Sophie, who's a lot bigger than Savannah, could have easily
won that challenge. Savannah was more focused and won. As Rick pointed
out, the entire season is mapped out in advance. I also highly doubt
they are going to go out of their way to favor a particular player when
they have no idea if fans will like that person.

Anyway, it was a great episode that is worth watching in its entirety.
The season is also looking to end strong even with us knowing that two
of the players are very likely to go deep into the game.

I thought tonight's episode was great and sets up what could be a >>>>>> great end run for the season.

I agree.-a This is definitely setting up as a great season, which
again makes me really regret the spoilers about who gets picked for >>>>> next season.-a I would much have preferred watching this season
without knowing in advance about two players who were perceived as
    the stars of the season.

Without the spoilers last night's episode would have been even more
    impressive.

The HII MC played last TC was found very early in the episode.
Alex wanted it badly, but made the mistake of asking Jawan and
Kristina to help him look for it. Kristina found it and didn't
have to do anything extra to get it. Early on in the game it
looked liked she would be an early boot. Now, it looks like
Kristina could last deep into the game. No one's targeting her and >>>>>> her social game is pretty solid.

She definitely has zero-vote F3 goat written all over her, unless
she gets put into fire at F4 and eliminated, which is unlikely.-a I >>>>> can easily imagine a final three of Savannah, Rizzo and Kristina,
    with Savannah the likely winner

I'm not sure about F3. Her edit would need to become more visible if
she's going to make it to the end. If she does, she's definitely the
    zero-vote player.

Savannah went on an apology tour trying to mend fences. It didn't >>>>>> work. We then saw Savannah breakdown crying in a confessional over >>>>>> how Sage is trying to paint her as a mean girl when she (Sage) is >>>>>> the one with the knife. Savannah then told Steven how she was

more crying. I believe that scene confirms that she told the
others she is/was a TV reporter.

I watched that scene again and she was very careful not to mention
to Steven that she was a reporter.-a It was immediately followed by >>>>> a confessional where she referenced being a reporter to the camera, >>>>> but so far nothing on the show has indicated she disclosed her
    prior job to anyone.

I need to watch again. I thought she said to Steven it was an on
camera position? I'll check and see if people like Dalton and Mike
Bloom were allowed to interview her. Similar to the big Joe and Eva
    episode last season.

No, she only told Steven about being on a team and never mentioned
what the job was.-a The show quickly shifted to a confessional which
is where she said the on-camera part.

I didn't really equate it to the Joe-Eva scene because it was so
fast. I checked the time-stamps and her entire discussion with Steven
only lasted about 30 seconds.-a The Joe-Eva scene was a real segment.

This was a great lead in going into the IC. Savannah was clearly
at the bottom and needed to win immunity. Then Jeff dropped the
tribe split into two teams twist on them. Rizo was not impressive >>>>>> at all being the first out on his team. At one point I thought
Sophi might win with God's help. God had other plans. It came down >>>>>> to Sophie vs. Savannah with Savannah winning. Sophie was
impressive as that challenge favors smaller people.

Yeah, I totally didn't get why he didn't give her the necklace at
the challenge, since it was obvious that she had won.

Especially given that the necklace was there at the challenge.

And I agree --a I don't recall that particular reward ever being

that the extra vote expires at final six, not final five like the
immunity idols? -a-aI don't know why they make that distinction,

And here are her audio interviews with Rob and Mike Bloom where she
again mentioned that she didn't want a repeat of Survivor 42 with
successive black players being sent to the jury

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sofvcGZp8Cs

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8QcmF3kstU

She was the second of the alternates added to the cast last-minute,
which means she was not in the primary group selected for the season.
Interesting that neither of the substitutes made it deep into the
season.-a Guess in a way that's a tribute to the casting process

S49: "Season of the Alternates." Sage was an alternate for S47 and
Sophie for S48 according to some S48 players.

--Rob Cesternio's book must be doing great in presales. Jeff had a
plug (paid?) for his book last night and the book now has it's own
    website just like Rob's.

--Did you notice the mistake where they had "Yellow Sophi" on the
screen? Hard to say if it was a typo or if the person captioning
dialog didn't know Sophi is "Blue Sophi."

I did see that.-a I just assumed whoever did the captions confused the
    names.

Or is not a fan of Sophi.

Yeah, I should have been more clear.-a Sophie was good too, but

I watched and she makes no sense. Maryanne won S42 and she was black. MC
also might have blown up her own game by ratting out Sophie. The New Era
has had plenty of black winners. Do they need to be all black?

Looks like Riz, Sophi, and Savannah are still a tight three.

anyone to join her. Jawan is going to float to which ever side >>>>>>>> he thinks has power, and I don't think she fully trusts Sophie >>>>>>>> or Steven.

Agree on all counts.-a My guess is Sage or Sophie is probably next >>>>>>> to do, with Jawan and Steven hanging on a bit.-a Soph (with an i) >>>>>>> is looking good and might make it to F4 at minimum.
If Savannah tells Sophi about her extra vote Sophi will have a lot >>>>>> of power. The question is can she use the info she has to her
    advantage?

    Some more comments from me.

--What happened to Nate? He literally looked like a different
    person. Was that really him?

It's all in the hat.-a Really made him look different.

Shaving also made a big difference. At least for me.

And here are her audio interviews with Rob and Mike Bloom where she
again mentioned that she didn't want a repeat of Survivor 42 with
successive black players being sent to the jury

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sofvcGZp8Cs

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8QcmF3kstU

I watched and she makes no sense. Maryanne won S42 and she was black. MC also might have blown up her own game by ratting out Sophie. The New Era
has had plenty of black winners. Do they need to be all black?

Right. In fact, if you assume the non-Hispanic, non-Asian black winners
since the new era are Maryann and Kyle, that makes two black winners out
of eight new era seasons which is a percentage of 25%, which is actually double the national percentage of 12.63%. If you assume S49 will likely
not have a black winner, then that makes it two out of nine or 22%,
still well above the national average. And if you assume six black
winners in the history of the show (again excluding black Hispanics or Asians), six out of 49 actually works out to 12.24% which is very close
    to the national average.

I agree.-a This is definitely setting up as a great season, which >>>>>>>> again makes me really regret the spoilers about who gets picked >>>>>>>> for next season.-a I would much have preferred watching this
season without knowing in advance about two players who were
perceived as the stars of the season.

Without the spoilers last night's episode would have been even
    more impressive.

The HII MC played last TC was found very early in the episode. >>>>>>>>> Alex wanted it badly, but made the mistake of asking Jawan and >>>>>>>>> Kristina to help him look for it. She definitely has zero-vote F3 goat written all over her,
unless she gets put into fire at F4 and eliminated, which is
unlikely. I can easily imagine a final three of Savannah, Rizzo >>>>>>>> and Kristina, with Savannah the likely winner

I'm not sure about F3. Her edit would need to become more visible >>>>>>> if she's going to make it to the end. If she does, she's

No, she only told Steven about being on a team and never mentioned >>>>>> what the job was.-a The show quickly shifted to a confessional
which is where she said the on-camera part.

I didn't really equate it to the Joe-Eva scene because it was so
fast. I checked the time-stamps and her entire discussion with
Steven only lasted about 30 seconds.-a The Joe-Eva scene was a real >>>>>> segment.

No, I was talking about Savannah, not Sophie.-a I thought Savannah >>>>>> was really channeling Parvati, both in looks (their smiles are
virtually identical) as well as demeanor.

I thought you were talking about Sophie because when I said she was >>>>> impressive you said she was great. Yes, Savannah does have some

Yeah, I should have been more clear.-a Sophie was good too, but
Savannah made it really look effortless.-a I was totally thinking of
Savannah when I wrote that comment.

Regarding the Parv similarity, there were just a couple of scenes

One could argue there's been just two white New Era winners. Yammy and
Dee could be classified as Hispanic. Erika is Asian and Rachel is mixed Asian/White. Seems like a very broad cross section of winners by race to
me. Erika and Yammy are gay which covers that demo. People should be
happy. We've even had more women winners than guys so far in the New Era.

Any of you people ever heard of "trimming your posts"?

    Apparently not.

So, just to help, it means you *DON'T* need to quote two weeks worth of replies and then add a three-line response. Trim the excess garbage to
keep things lean and clean. You want some context, for sure, but not
    several hundred lines of it.

    Please, do better.

Yeah, that could mean anything. I actually like Sophie quite a bit and
would love to see her make it far. If she can keep the remaining Hina
tribe together plus Alex, she theoretically needs just Sage or Jawan,
probably Sage, to have a majority. In a different season, maybe even

forth to the end. Unfortunately, the way she has been edited thus far
and her overall lack of screen time suggests she doesn't last that far

The preview has me believing that this will be the third episode in a

think she's gong to have some second doubts about her existing alliance members. I can't see her and Jawan trusting each other. Will Alex stick
