• Windows Vista 11 annoyances, "notepad".

Out of nowhere today, notepad decides that the save folder view must be "grouped" like the Windows Download folder with the stupid fucking date sorting and grouping.

    What a stupid idea.

I wondered if notepad's save dialog would take hints from the most
recent explorer view options, so I changed explorer to sort and group by
    date modified.

notepad did not pay an attention to this, so I can't reproduce what you
claim, even if I want to ...

you can replace notepad with notepad++

That won't fix it, although it's superior to notepad in every way.

If you frequently download and save files to different locations, you
might run into it if the last d/l folder was downloads and you select a
folder on a file share. For me it happens when I get in a hurry using a touchpad vs mouse.

Easily reproduced, sometimes by accident if you save in many different
folders frequently. The culprit is explorer, not notepad.

    Here's how you fix it.

Next time you use notepad (Or some other prog), when you save or save as,
and it's "grouping", right-click any open space (May take several tries
for the right spot), Group by, (none), it clears and looks normal again.

    Disable that stupid POS Copilot.

i think there might be a firefox addon that can bind shortcuts to
specific location saves or like provide a dropdown of custom
    added locations.
