    Quantum-safe TRNG? User-friendly CLI? Isn't it also vegan?

    That troll isn't a crypto expert. He's just a not so clever salesman.

    I'm not one to join up with tons of Web sites, especially those which do
    not accept passphrases. So, here is the site I mostly use to generate a passphrase. Just load up about 10 or so phrases, the misspell a couple
    of words, add a number or two along with a punctuation mark and

    set.

    I use at least a ten word passphrase consisting of at least 40 to 50 characters. So much for random cracking or any dictionary attack
    working.

    How to keep those passphrases safe? I use TrueCrypt - which is still
    safe despite all the bulbleep posted about it's security. I don't use VeraCrypt because the dang thing failed on me twice. Each time I was
    lucky that I kept a backup of my passphrases/passwords on TrueCrypt, or
    I would have lost all of them. My TC passphrase I keep in a pocket in my
    wallet and on a USB stick in my gun safe - which is 6 ft tall and 1,500
    lbs. Nobody is breaking in and walking away with that.

    I agree with Schneier, WRITE 'EM DOWN SOMEWHERE.

    file:///C:/Passphrase%20Gen/Pass%20Phrase%20Generator.html

    Now, to keep my Windows 7 and XP machines from capturing my passphrases/passwords, I use -

    https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/toolwiz_time_freeze.html

    I've used this for 6 years. It has never let Windows hold onto any info
    i didn't want staying on the C: drive. I don't want hear about it's
    old, it's unsupported, etc., etc. - the dang thing works!

    And how do I know it's working? Another simple solution that also works
    great.

    https://www.theabsolute.net/sware/dskinv.html

    So much for using any SUPER - DUPER QUANTUM MIRACLE password protection proggie.
    ===
    Now, I gotta lay down and take a nap. I wore myself out on this one.

    No, it's more of a dumb stupid mistake of trying a complicated post by a simpleton who did so before he had his 2nd cup of coffee upon awakening,

    You should start learning to design your software cross-platform!

    As usual, your stuff on Usenet gives always compiling erros!

    No matter what source code you post! I will stop now trying
    out source code from you, unless you start programming in
    Rust or Go!

    And reading Google Groups threads is also annoying.

    gcc test.c -o test

    Instructions for systems for which I have a PC and an operating
    environment where I can verify correct functioning:

    ### Debian/Ubuntu

    ```bash
    # Install dependencies
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install golang libx11-dev git
    # Clone repository
    git clone git@github.com:gabrix73/gensecpass.git
    cd gensecpass
    # Install Go dependencies
    go mod download
    # Build
    go build -v -o gensecpass gensecpass.go
    # Optional: Install to system
    sudo cp gensecpass /usr/local/bin/
    ```

    ### Arch Linux

    ```bash
    # Install dependencies
    sudo pacman -S go libx11 git
    # Clone repository
    git clone git@github.com:gabrix73/gensecpass.git
    cd gensecpass
    # Install Go dependencies
    go mod download
    # Build
    go build -v -o gensecpass gensecpass.go
    # Optional: Install to system
    sudo cp gensecpass /usr/local/bin/
    ```

    ### Windows (Cross-Compilation from Linux)

    ```bash
    # Install MinGW cross-compiler
    # On Debian/Ubuntu:
    sudo apt-get install mingw-w64
    # On Arch Linux:
    sudo pacman -S mingw-w64-gcc
    # Clone repository
    git clone git@github.com:gabrix73/gensecpass.git
    cd gensecpass
    # Install Go dependencies
    go mod download
    # Cross-compile for Windows
    CGO_ENABLED=1 GOOS=windows GOARCH=amd64 CC=x86_64-w64-mingw32-gcc go
    build -v -o gensecpass.exe gensecpass.go
    ```

    **Note for Windows**: The X11 mouse entropy collection requires an X
    server (like VcXsrv or Xming) running on Windows, or use WSL2 with X11 forwarding.

    And,

    ## Troubleshooting

    ### "Cannot open X11 display"

    **Cause**: DISPLAY environment variable not set or X11 not running.

    **Solution**:
    ```bash
    # Check DISPLAY variable
    echo $DISPLAY
    # If empty, set it (usually :0 or :1)
    export DISPLAY=:0
    # Verify X11 is running
    xdpyinfo | grep "name of display"
    ```

    ### "Permission denied" on mouse device

    **Cause**: User not in `input` group (if using device raw access).

    **Solution**: Not applicable for X11 version (no device access needed).

    ### Slow entropy collection

    **Cause**: Insufficient mouse movement or slow movement patterns.

    **Solution**: Move mouse in varied patterns (circles, zigzags, random movements).

    ### "Failed to decrypt"

    **Cause**: Wrong passphrase or corrupted file.

    **Solution**: Verify passphrase and check file SHA-256 fingerprint.

    Merci

    I've had TC fail a couple of times over the years. It's always been the program's fault,, not the volumes being bad. Each time I uninstalled Tc
    then reintalled it. The same passphrase I used before the failure worked without a problem. My volumes were still fine. This method has been
    successful for me each time TC itself came down with a problem.
