After weeks of dire threats - huge sanctions/tariffs on the EU -
Trump apparently GOT his compromise deal. Fair chance the USA
will wind up owning PARTS of Greenland, but not the whole thing.
The extreme northern part, sometimes called 'Peary Land', is
likely the most critical for defense purposes. Almost no, or
maybe NO, locals live there - it's horrible. However it IS a
good place for a missile defense system and keeping track
of Russian/Chinese movements.
I doubt it will be a US *state* ... maybe a 'territory'
like Puerto Rico. It should also leave the existing pop
relatively unaffected ... still Danish-Greenlandic.
Never doubt that Trump is a GOOD politician/businessman.
From this deal the USA can get what it needs - but not
cause any major disruptions.
Oh yea ... why didn't Trump just enlarge bases in
northern Canada ? Because Canada is hostile, commie,
wimpy and very keen to be 'West China' apparently.
The pop won't elect anyone who isn't the grandkid
of Marx or Mao ... "Might Lose Our FREE STUFF !!!"
No such thing Canuks, it's the Great Lie ......
