The civil revolt is gaining size and momentum now.
The MAIN reason is economic, not 'religious' - the
inflation has become intolerable, the country cannot
proceed further.
Trump, in a live Hannity interview, implied that the main
ayatollahs and enforcers already have plans to flee
to Russia.
Some govt troops are blasting the protesters, but
there are now too many, too zealous, to contain.
There have been smaller movements over the past
few years, but the govt was able to crush them.
Now ... I don't think so.
Trump DID promise to punish the regime if it got
too extreme with the protesters - but so far we
haven't seen anything. No doubt the CIA and the
Israelis know exactly where the top people are
at all times, meaning cruise missiles could be
delivered on short notice if required.
In any case, this is just too big now - the old
regime IS going to go away this time.
Of course this leaves a serious "power vacuum"
in the region. Many will try to take advantage.
Many will NOT be good actors.
This also fits into Trump's plan to make things
more and more inconvenient for RUSSIA. Iran has
been a useful ally, and provides a fair percentage
of the drones Russia has been firing into Ukraine.
Their engineers/techs are top rate.
Iran nukes ? FAIR chance they have a handful already.
Their problem is DELIVERY. They only have a few
rockets that qualify as ICBMs and a rather low-tech
air-force. The rockets are not designed to evade
defenses. So what's their option - FedEx delivery ?
Doesn't seem very good.
