The government of Trinidad and Tobago said Monday that it would
allow the US military to access its airports in coming weeks as
tensions build between the United States and Venezuela.
The announcement comes after the US military recently installed a
radar system at the airport in Tobago. The Caribbean country's
government has said the radar is being used to fight local crime,
and that the small nation wouldn't be used as a launchpad to
attack any other country.
The US would use the airports for activity that would be
"logistical in nature, facilitating supply replenishment
and routine personnel rotations,rCY Trinidad and TobagorCOs
Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. It did
not provide further details.
. . .
Those islands are rather close to Venezuela.
So ... things are quickly proceeding in a clear
direction here. SOMETHING bad is going to happen
to Maduro and his cartels Real Soon Now.
Venezuela DOES have a rightfully elected president,
it's just not Maduro.
Long back, Reagan dropped a big bomb on Qadaffi.
It didn't kill him, but finished breaking his
mind. The end came pretty soon afterwards, shot
dead in a ditch like a rabid dog. Didn't really
make the country much "better" alas ... a lesson
to remember ... but DID dethrone a serious and
dangerous asshole. SOMEtimes that's the best
you can do.
Threat ... if smart, both Russia and China have
sneaked-in a selection of their latest and best
anti-aircraft/ship missiles and drones. They
both have interests in Venezuela. If the USA
thinks it can act with impunity, expect a nasty
surprise. Maduro can't BEAT the USA, but he CAN
leave it with a seriously bruised ass. That'll
look bad politically.
Hmmm ... Russian-made drone attack on Key West ?
That'd be 'interesting' ......
