Miami mayoral candidate reveals how he will flip script on
Dem rival's 'city of renters' strategy

Emilio Gonzalez said he would prioritize eliminating property
taxes in Miami if elected mayor

    . . .

NYC is a city of renters by and large (huge killing
rent) and property owners get totally gouged for cash
and subjected to a zillion little rules and regs.

And now a LOT of New Yorkers are in the process of
fleeing to Florida, esp the Miami area. No more
    'blue' for them.

While the FL governor is trying to push down property
taxes, esp on 'homestead' properties, current and
future Miami pols are equally hot on the subject
    and looking for fixes.

It has been noted by many that taxes/fees have risen
WELL above the inflation rate the past five or ten
years ... yet nobody sees more or better services.

So what's the damned money FOR exactly ? Probably
so 'administrators' can vote themselves bigger
salaries. They don't add more actual workers either,
    just more white-collar positions.

So, if they won't regulate themselves ......

In any case, this is now the hot new topic in
the state, and for good reasons. Some serious
    DOGE-ism is required.

NOT sure you can ELIMINATE property taxes, but
it looks like there's WAY too much fat in the
system and that CAN be trimmed.

The ability to OWN homes is now of great importance
across the nation. Far too many can't, and if all
stays the same they NEVER can.
