    Hi. I changed the OS on my Laptop to Xfce from Cinnamon, since it has a
    low spec Celeron processor. I was pleased with the result. It performs noticeably faster. but it won't be launching the Space Shuttle anytime
    soon. :)

    Inxi can print out some details of your hardware.

    And there are, potentially, faster OSes than that.
    But without the right kind of benchmarks (not gamer
    benches particularly), it makes it harder to associate
    numbers with the improvement.

    You could for example, try Devuan with XFCE.

    I migrated all my Linux PC's onto Mint/Manjaro Xfce years ago.
    Old & New hardware alike! Running Xfce is not just highly configurable,
    but MUCH more efficient and FASTE. I would not consider going back
    to Cinnamon or any other interface anytime soon!
