EVERETT rCo A DoorDash driver, allegedly high on methamphetamine, crashed
his vehicle into a tree and then intentionally set his car on fire
    Wednesday, according to Lynnwood police.

At around 6 p.m., Lynnwood police officers responded to the 5100 block
of 192nd Street SW in Lynnwood after a neighbor across the street heard
tires screech and a loud bang, a probable cause statement said.

A DoorDash driver crashed his 2007 Toyota Yaris into a tree, police
said. The driver allegedly pulled out a lighter and set a cardboard box
in the passenger seat on fire before taking off on foot, the report said.

While another officer extinguished the fire, a K-9 tracked the driver to
a hiding spot under a parked car where he was taken into custody. A drug recognition expert determined the driver was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the crash, the report said.

The driver was booked into Snohomish County Jail on investigation of
arson 2, DUI (drugs) and hit and run, according to a Lynnwood Police Department Facebook post.
