Not for nothing, the trash company I contract with always picked
up on holidays. They stopped doing that starting with
Thanksgiving this year. Great! Let them enjoy their holidays,
too. My only objection is they don't pick up the next day, they
wait until the following week. Not a big deal for me but people
who have a lot of family visiting, stuff starts to pile up.

Where does the extra workday come from, Princess?
Here, it will be a day later, for us, Saturday. No day off, just
moved back a day.
Utility workers never really get a break aside from federal
holidays.
Nor do hospital workers and many others, such as police and
firefighters. The career you choose is up to you to consider
everything.

Just a quick Christmas message: take care of those who take care of you. Pay it forward. Life is unpredictable. While things are good, share with the less fortunate. Because when something happens to you and your life goes sideways, we'll remember your generosity.
We're in this together. We got you.
Merry Christmas.
