    What a super idea!
And naturally the illegal migrants are complaining that their rights
    are being infringed upon.
Who gives a shit about their rights?
Depot should add in some speakers blasting Barry Manilow at high
    volume as well.
Hopefully other Home Depot stores follow suit.

'ImmigrantsrCO rights advocates are sounding the alarm about noise
machines placed high above the parking lot on light poles at a Home
    Depot in Cypress Park.

The machines put out a constant high-pitched beeping noise that has
day laborers, like Jose De La Torre, who goes there in hopes of
finding work, reaching for earplugs to try and block the piercing
    sounds out.

rCLItrCOs bad, itrCOs bad,rCY De La Torre told KTLA. rCLItrCOs annoying. You have
to walk away, always use your earplugs. Otherwise, people get
    headaches.rCY

De La Torre is not alone. Many of the other day laborers who frequent
the parking lot started using earplugs soon after the machines were
installed last month, though they only block out so much of the noise,
    he said.

rCLWhatrCOs the purpose?rCY he added. rCLI guess they probably donrCOt like the
    laborers here.rCY

Maegan Ortiz with the Institute of Popular Education of SoCal, a day
laborer advocacy organization with an office on the lot, agrees. She
and others believe the anti-loitering machines are meant to scare
    workers off.

rCLWe are obviously concerned about the health and safety of our members
who use the day labor center on a daily basis,rCY she told KTLA. rCLAs far
as werCOre concerned, this is an attempt to harass day laborers to get
    rid of them.rCY

Ortiz said theyrCOre concerned that Home Depot has been working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents amid enforcement operations
and have repeatedly asked the company about it.

There have been numerous ICE raids at Home Depots across the Southland
and one that took place at the Cypress Park store over the summer.

Home Depot said they do not work with ICE and have launched several initiatives to keep their stores safe. In a statement to KTLA, the
company stated the Cypress Park location is unique and the noise
machines are intended to deter illegal overnight parking.

rCLTo conflate this issue with immigration enforcement or to say that we
are cooperating with immigration enforcement activities is just
false,rCY the statement continued. rCLWe are not informed when these activities are going to happen, and werCOre in no way involved in the operations.rCY

De La Torre said the companyrCOs statement made sense to him, but added
that he wished there was another way to solve the problem'

There is, go back to whence you came, don't return.
