Seems the Double Cheeseburger used to be called McDouble, and would have
had two slices of cheese. The modern McDouble only has one. This is from Quora.

I prefer the modern one, as I see it as a better balance of meat and
cheese. Take one McDouble, add a middle bun and a few cents worth of
lettuce, substitute the ketchup and mustard with puke sauce, and folks
will happily pay more than twice the price.

    Currently, McDonald's offers:

    McDouble
    Double Cheeseburger

The McDouble offers ONE slice of cheese. The Double Cheeseburger
    offers TWO slices of cheese.

The Double Cheeseburger was first introduced as a promotional item in
the 1950s and became a permanent part of the national menu in 1965.
The "McDouble" name first appeared in 1997 for a short-lived burger
that actually had lettuce and tomato instead of cheese. However, the
McDouble as we know it todayutwo patties with one slice of cheeseuwas officially launched in 2008. The McDouble was born out of economic
necessity. In the mid-2000s, rising ingredient costs (specifically
cheese) made it impossible for McDonald's to keep the Double
Cheeseburger on the $1 Dollar Menu

McDonald's should discontinue the McDouble since its a waste of time
trying to remember which one is which.

The Triple Cheeseburger only comes with TWO slices-- they should make
    it THREE.

Obviously, the AI got it wrong because that menu from 1965 clearly shows
that the double cheeseburger at that time was being called, "McDouble."
I am correct in assuming that you posted AI's words w/o attribution?

"The "McDouble" name was introduced in 1964."

McDonald's should discontinue the McDouble since its a waste of time
trying to remember which one is which.

I prefer the McDouble, not only for the price, but because 2 slices of
cheese on 1/5 pound of burger is too heavy on the process cheese.

The Triple Cheeseburger only comes with TWO slices-- they should make
    it THREE.

Again, too much process cheese. I'd prefer the Triple have only 1 slice
    and be 30 cents cheaper.

A McDouble is the only sandwich that I order - it's the only one that
I can eat without feeling ill. I'd eat a Daily Double but I've never
seen it on the big board. The McDouble has a single slice of cheese

Putting cheese on fish is weird. Perhaps it's about proportions. I
wouldn't want more process cheese. If I ordered a Filet-O-Fish, it would
be with no tartar sauce, and extra, extra pickles.

US style pickles RUIN fish, way too acidic and spicy.

Try using an Asian sweet pickled daikon, jicama or such.
