an ipv6 address. Whilst I an remotely logged i to one of their
W11 workstations, is there a way with Firefox or any other browser
to open the printer's web page?

    http://[ipv6address%4]:80

    Ethernet is %4

does not work. Web search say it is not possible.
    It that really the case?

drop the %4 that's only relevant to windows network interfaces, not to
    firefox or printers

    try https

    Hi Andy,

    Tried both. No joy.

    Even tried: http://[ipv6address%Ethernet]

    Thank you anyway.

Is it an address that starts with FE80::? A Linklocal address?

    Like "FE80::21E:xxx:xxx:xxx?

Will not work with a modern browser, only with a very old browser.
    Firefox 6.

I don't know this instant how you can install in the same computer two firefoxes, one modern, one ancient. Will depend on your operating

installing an ancient Linux version in a virtual machine from a DVD.

    I'm using this: https://utilu.com/UtiluMFC/

To run multiple old FF versions, for testing my website. Download links
are located near the bottom of the page. This appears to work on any

BTW, they have a multiple IE too.

What a difference being on site makes!

The old printer that had not worked for over four years
got tossed in the trash. Finally!

The newer printer with the local IPv6 address totally
    had its networking trashed.

IPv4 was no where to be found in network settings.
IPv6 was also missing. Could not find a network
    or system reset.

    I did

    [1] a power cycle
    [2] firmware upgrade
[3] Network reset (its showed up)

All the network setting finally show up. I configured
IPv4 for DHCP and turned IPv6 off.

    And everyone now prints!

It doesn't matter, it has no effect.

    And everyone now prints!

By the way, a linklocal IPv6 address is not routable. Just in case you
    tried that.

Only tried to log into the printer's web interface

Yes, but even though the address is universally unique, it is impossible
to reach it from Internet, the routers (plural) will not pass it along,
    so it is safe.

    Thank you!

    Just run "firefox.exe"?

Yes. Make sure you create a new profile to run this old product,
otherwise it will interfere with your up-to-date profile created with
    the latest version of Firefox.

To do this, open the folder where you extracted the zip file and type in
    the following:

    firefox -p.

Give it a name such as 'firefox-v-6.0.2' and check the box to run this
profile when you run this old version of Firefox.

The beauty of portable apps is that they can be run from a flash drive
    without installation.
