• Does anyone here upgrade non-ESR Firefox in updated macOS with a non-admin account?

If so, then do you have problems upgrading that doesn't work even after entering macOS admin account information and install helper was added? I
never had this problem before upgrading macOS Ventura to Sequoia. I had
to reboot and log into my macOS admin account to upgrade Firefox (e.g., v145.0.2 to v146). Did Apple and/or Mozilla change something in its
newer version(s) to break it? Or is it just me since last month
(upgraded macOS back on 10/18/2025 and always updated Firefox (internal updater) on its first release day)?

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

I'm not aware of any Mac-specific changes, although a check of the
release notes indicates changes in GPU handling. I just did the same
upgrade internally a few minutes ago, and without difficulties.

Most often, if there are issues, my experience with MacOS is that
there's something related to permissions errors, and I just spent a
week+ fighting through upgrading another software package, where the
problem seemed to be related to permissions. When I completely deleted
that application (including making sure app permissions were removed)
and reinstalled, the problem went away. My system is running Sequoia,
and I haven't yet upgraded to Tahoe.

Although I'm not enthusiastic about doing uninstall/reinstall, because I
think that most Firefox problems tend to be profile-specific, if there's
some sort of system-level conflict, uninstall/reinstall may be a good
thing to check. If you're still seeing issues, then there may be
something that's related to your profile.

I did try the uninstall, redownload, and reinstall for
/Applications/Firefox. That didn't help. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1957613#c31 thinks it is
might be related to local network access that were not enabled for
Firefox and its install helper. I will have to try again with those
enabled for the next internal upgrade. :/

What software package did you run into? I wonder if I use it too. I did
have an update problem with Office 2016 after upgrading macOS from
Ventura. I found out it MS screwed up on their end. Thanks God. After
that, no more update problems with it, Chrome, etc.

I was working with NoMachine. But at the same time, I work from an
    account that has admin rights.
