Day 59, 28 February 2026

1) Numbers 11, Numbers 12, Numbers 13

NUMBERS 11

Complaints in the Desert

1 (Lev 10:2; Nu 16:35) Now when the people complained openly before the Lord, the Lord heard, and His anger burned. Then the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.
2 (Nu 21:7; 16:45-48) And the people cried out to Moses, and Moses prayed
to the Lord, and the fire was quenched.
3 (Dt 9:22) He called the name of the place Taberah
because the fire of the Lord burned among them.
4 (Ex 12:38; 1Co 10:6) The mixed multitude that was among them lusted,
and the children of Israel wept again and said,
"Who will give us meat to eat?
5 (Ex 16:3) We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt for free,
the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic. 6 (Nu 21:5) But now our life is dried up. There is nothing at all except
this manna before our eyes."
7 (Ex 16:31; Ge 2:12) The manna was as coriander seed,
and it looked like bdellium.
8 (Ex 16:16-18; 16:31) The people went about and gathered it,
and ground it in mills or beat it in a mortar, and boiled it in pots,
and made cakes of it, and the taste of
it was like the taste of cakes baked in oil.
9 (Ex 16:13-14) When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna fell on it. 10 Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the opening of his tent, and the anger of the Lord burned greatly.
Moses was also displeased.
11 (Dt 1:12) Moses said to the Lord, "Why have You hurt Your servant?
And why have I not found favor in Your eyes, that You lay the burden
of all this people on me?
12 (Ex 13:5; Isa 49:23) Have I conceived all this people? Have I given
them birth, that You should say to me, 'Carry them in your bosom, as a
nurse bears the nursing child,' to the land which You swore to their fathers? 13 (Mt 15:33; Mk 8:4) Where am I to get meat to give to all these people?
For they weep to me, saying, 'Give us meat, that we may eat.'
14 (Ex 18:18) I am not able to bear all these people alone,
because the burden is too heavy for me.
15 (1Ki 19:4; Jnh 4:3) If You do this to me, please kill me at once,
if I have found favor in Your eyes, and do not let me see my misery."

[1] And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD
heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among
them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
[2] And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD,
the fire was quenched.
[3] And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the
LORD burnt among them.
[4] And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the
children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to
eat?
[5] We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers,
and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
[6] But our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
[7] And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the
colour of bdellium.
[8] And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or
beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the
taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
[9] And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it. [10] Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man
in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly;
Moses also was displeased.
[11] And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy
servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou
layest the burden of all this people upon me?
[12] Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth
the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?
[13] Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
[14] I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy
for me.
[15] And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

The Seventy Elders

16 (Ex 24:1; 24:9) Then the Lord said to Moses, "Gather to Me seventy men
of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people,
and officers over them, and bring them to the tent of meeting,
that they may take a stand there with you.
17 (Nu 11:25; 1Sa 10:6) And I will come down, and I will speak with you there, and I will take of the Spirit which is on you and will put it on them,
and they will bear the burden of the people with you, and you will not bear
it by yourself.
18 (Ex 19:10; Nu 11:1) "And say to the people: Consecrate yourselves
for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat, for you have wept in the hearing
of the Lord, saying, 'Who will give us meat to eat?
For it was better for us in Egypt.'
Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.
19 You shall eat, not one day, or two days, or five days, or ten days,
or twenty days,
20 (Ps 106:15; Nu 21:5) but a whole month, until it comes out
at your nostrils, and it will be nauseating to you because
you rejected the Lord who is among you and have wept before Him,
saying, 'Why did we come out of Egypt?' "
21 (Ex 12:37; 38:26) And Moses said, "The people I am with number
600000 foot soldiers, and You have said,
'I will give them meat that they may eat a whole month.'
22 (Mt 15:33) Will the flocks and the herds be slaughtered for them,
to satisfy them? Or will all the fish of the sea be gathered together
for them, to satisfy them?"
23 (Isa 50:2; 59:1) And the Lord said to Moses,
"Is the hand of the Lord shortened? Now you will see
if My word will happen to you or not."
24 (Nu 11:16) Moses went out, and he spoke to the people the words
of the Lord and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people
and set them around the tabernacle.
25 (Nu 11:17; 12:5; 1Sa 10:10) And the Lord came down in a cloud,
and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him,
and gave it to the seventy elders, and when the Spirit rested on them,
they prophesied, but did not do it again.
26 (1Sa 20:26; Jer 36:5) But two men remained in the camp.
The name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other, Medad.
And the Spirit rested on them. They were among those listed,
but they had not gone out to the tent, and so they prophesied in the camp.
27 And a young man ran and told Moses and said,
"Eldad and Medad prophesy in the camp."
28 Then Joshua the son of Nun, the assistant of Moses from his youth,
answered and said, "My lord Moses, forbid them."
29 (1Co 14:5) Moses said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake?
Oh, that all the people of the Lord were prophets,
and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!"
30 And Moses returned to the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

[16] And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders
of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers
over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.
[17] And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear
the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.
[18] And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow,
and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying,
Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore
the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.
[19] Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten
days, nor twenty days;
[20] But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among
you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?
[21] And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a
whole month.
[22] Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice
them?
[23] And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD's hand waxed short? thou
shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.
[24] And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round
about the tabernacle.
[25] And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came
to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did
not cease.
[26] But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle:
and they prophesied in the camp.
[27] And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.
[28] And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
[29] And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all
the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!
[30] And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

The Lord Sends Quail

31 (Ex 16:13; Ps 105:40) Now a wind from the Lord started up,
and it swept quail from the sea and let them fall beside the camp,
about a day's journey on this side and a day's journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits (About 3 feet, or 90 centimeters.
above the ground.)
32 (Eze 45:11; Ex 16:36) And the people stayed up all that day, all night,
and all the next day, and gathered the quail. Those who gathered least gathered ten homers. (Likely about 1 3/4 tons, or 1.6 metric tons.)
And they spread them out for themselves all around the camp.
33 (Ps 78:30-31; Nu 16:49) While the meat was between their teeth,
before it was chewed, the anger of the Lord burned against the people,
and the Lord struck the people with a very great slaughter.
34 (Dt 9:22) And he called the name of that place Kibroth Hattaavah
because there they buried the people who had the craving.
35 (Nu 33:17; 12:16) The people journeyed from Kibroth Hattaavah
to Hazeroth, and they camped at Hazeroth.

[31] And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and
as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.
[32] And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the
next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp. [33] And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the
people with a very great plague.
[34] And he called the name of that place Kibroth-hattaavah: because there
they buried the people that lusted.
[35] And the people journeyed from Kibroth-hattaavah unto Hazeroth; and
abode at Hazeroth.

NUMBERS 12

Miriam and Aaron Oppose Moses

1 (Ex 2:21) And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because
of the Cushite woman whom he married, for he had married a Cushite woman.
2 (Nu 11:1; 16:3) They said, "Has the Lord spoken only by Moses?
Has He not spoken also by us?" And the Lord heard it.
3 (Mt 11:29) (Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all the men
on the face of the earth.)
4 And the Lord spoke at once to Moses and to Aaron and to Miriam,
"Come out, you three, to the tent of meeting." And those three came out.
5 (Nu 11:25; Ex 34:5) The Lord came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood
in the opening of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam,
and they both came forward.
6 (Ge 46:2; 1Ki 3:5) He said, "Hear now My word.
If there is a prophet among you,
I the Lord will make Myself known to him in a vision,
and I will speak to him in a dream.
7 (Ps 105:26) Not so with My servant Moses;
he is entrusted with all My house.
8 (Dt 34:10; Ex 24:10-11) Face to face I speak with him clearly,
and not in riddles,
and the likeness of the Lord will he behold.
Then why were you not afraid
to speak against My servant, against Moses?"
9 And the anger of the Lord burned against them, and He set out.
10 (Dt 24:9; 2Ki 5:27) When the cloud went away from over the tabernacle, Miriam became leprous as snow, and Aaron turned toward Miriam
and saw that she was leprous.
11 (2Sa 19:19; 24:10) Aaron said to Moses, "Alas, my lord, do not lay the
sin on us, which we have done foolishly, and which we have sinned.
12 Do not let her be as dead, who when he goes out of his mother's womb
half his flesh is eaten."
13 And Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, "O God, heal her, I pray!"
14 (Dt 25:9; Job 30:10) But the Lord said to Moses,
"If her father had but spit in her face, would she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut out of the camp seven days,
and afterward she may be received again."
15 Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days,
and the people did not set out until Miriam was brought in again.
16 (Nu 11:35; 10:12) Afterward the people set out from Hazeroth
and camped in the Wilderness of Paran.

Numbers 12
[1] And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
[2] And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.
[3] (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
[4] And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three
came out.
[5] And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door
of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
[6] And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the
LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in
a dream.
[7] My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
[8] With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then
were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
[9] And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
[10] And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam
became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold,
she was leprous.
[11] And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the
sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
[12] Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.
[13] And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.
[14] And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp
seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
[15] And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people
journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.
[16] And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.

(Never anger the Lord foolishly)

NUMBERS 13

Spying in Canaan

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
2 (Nu 32:8; Dt 1:22-25) "Send men that they may explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers you will send a man, each one a chief among them."
3 (Nu 12:16; 32:8) And Moses sent them from the Wilderness of Paran according to the Lord. All those men were heads of the children of Israel.
4 These were their names:
of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zakkur;
5 of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori;
6 (Nu 14:6; 13:30) of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;
7 of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph;
8 (Ex 24:13; Nu 11:28) of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun;
9 of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu;
10 of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi;
11 of the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of Manasseh,
Gaddi the son of Susi;
12 of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli;
13 of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael;
14 of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi;
15 of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Maki.
16 (Nu 13:8) These are the names of the men whom Moses
sent to explore the land. And Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.
17 (Ge 12:9; Jdg 1:9) Moses sent them to explore the land of Canaan
and said to them, "Go up to this southland, and go up into the mountain.
18 And see what the land is, and the people that dwell in it,
whether they are strong or weak, few or many;
19 and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad,
and what cities are that they dwell in, whether in tents,
or in fortifications;
20 (Dt 31:23; Ne 9:25) and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood in it or not. And you be courageous and bring
some of the fruit of the land." Now the time was the time
of the first ripe grapes.
21 (Nu 20:1; 33:36) So they went up and explored the land
from the Wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near Lebo Hamath.
22 (Ps 78:12; 78:43) They went up by the Negev and came to Hebron
where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were
(now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt).
23 (Nu 32:9; 13:24) And they came to the Valley of Eshkol,
and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes,
and they carried it on a pole between two of them,
and they brought some of the pomegranates and of the figs.
24 The place was called the Valley of Eshkol because of the cluster
of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from there.
25 They returned from exploring the land after forty days.

[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[2] Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give
unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
[3] And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness
of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.
[4] And these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.
[5] Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.
[6] Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
[7] Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.
[8] Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun.
[9] Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.
[10] Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.
[11] Of the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son
of Susi.
[12] Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.
[13] Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.
[14] Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.
[15] Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.
[16] These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land.
And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.
[17] And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them,
Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:
[18] And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;
[19] And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong
holds;
[20] And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the
land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.
[21] So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.
[22] And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
[23] And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a
branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a
staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.
[24] The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.
[25] And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

The Spies' Report

26 (Nu 32:8; 20:1) And they returned and came to Moses and to Aaron
and to all the assembly of the children of Israel,
to the Wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought back word to them
and to the entire assembly and showed them the fruit of the land.
27 (Ex 3:8; 3:17) They reported to him and said, "We came to the land
where you sent us, and surely it flows with milk and honey,
and this is the fruit of it.
28 (Dt 1:28; 9:1-2) However, the people are strong that dwell in the land,
and the cities are fortified and very great, and also we saw the children
of Anak there.
29 (Nu 14:43) The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negev,
and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell
in the mountains, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea
and by the edge of the Jordan."
30 (Nu 14:24) Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said,
"Let us go up at once and possess it, for we are able to overcome it."
31 (Dt 1:28; Jos 14:8) But the men that went up with him said,
"We are not able to go up against the people
because they are stronger than we."
32 (Nu 14:36-37; Am 2:9) They gave the children of Israel
a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying,
"The land through which we have gone as spies is a land
that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom
we saw in it are men of great stature.
33 (Ge 6:4; Dt 1:28) And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak,
which come from the giants, and in our eyes we were like grasshoppers,
and so we were in their eyes."

[26] And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the
congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
[27] And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. [28] Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the
cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
[29] The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and
the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
[30] And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at
once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
[31] But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
[32] And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the
people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
[33] And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the
giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in
their sight.

(Why give such a faithless report when you are in the Lord's hands?)

2) Our Daily Bread for 28 February 2026 Titled
Faith of Friends by Katara Patton

Mark 2:1-5

1 (Mt 9:1) Again, He entered Capernaum after some days.
And it was reported that He was in the house.
2 (Mk 1:45; 2:13) Immediately many were gathered together,
so that there was no room to receive them, not even at the door.
And He preached the word to them.
3 (Lk 5:18-26) They came to Him bringing one sick with paralysis,
who was carried by four men.
4 (Lk 5:19) When they could not come near Him due to the crowding,
they uncovered the roof where He was. When they had broken it open,
they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay.
5 (Mt 9:2; 9:22) When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic,
"Son, your sins are forgiven you."

[1] And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
[2] And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
[3] And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne
of four.
[4] And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
[5] When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

Attending a conference, a woman noticed that her friend - the day's
presenter - didn't look well. She approached the presenter, who replied,
"I'm going to get through this presentation. If I don't feel better in the morning, I'll go to the doctor." The woman didn't forget about the presenter's promise. This friend had to leave early, but she asked another friend to check on the presenter.

In the morning, there was a knock at the presenter's hotel door. The second friend had come to drive her to the hospital. There was no backing out, and - fortunately - she was given life-saving treatments in time. The persistence
of friends had evidently helped to save her life.

Persistent friends can be a blessing, just like the men in Mark 2. They'd apparently heard about the healing power of Jesus and that He'd come to their town (v. 1). The people clambered to Christ, and there was "no room left" for the men to get their paralysed friend to Him (v. 2). They didn't let a crowd stop them from getting their friend the help he needed, however: "They made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then
lowered . . . the man" (v. 4) to Christ who healed him (vv. 11-12).

Let's bring the needs of others to Jesus through persistent prayer. And as He provides what we need, let's strive to help and love them well.

Reflect & Pray

How has the faith and persistence of friends helped you?
What can you do to help someone today?

Healing God, thank You for persistent and faith-filled friends.
Please help me to persistently lift others to You.

3) Daily verses taken from Billy Graham Evangelical Organisation

Words in Season Scripture Memory Tools

Week 8 Guided by Grace Day 7 - Upheld by His Hand

Is 41:10

10 (Jos 1:9; Isa 41:13-14) Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God:
I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee;
yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Beth had the same recurring nightmare: she was running along a cliff,
then she slipped, and fell headlong, into a bottomless ravine.
Falling, without control, without end, falling, falling, falling...
Beth's dream may be one many of us identify with. The sense
of losing control can be nightmarish, and we may fear falling
without end, without remedy. Financial failure may be the chasm
that we face, or professional disgrace. Personal relationships
may go out of control, and we look into a never-ending
ravine of pain and misunderstanding
But God says, "Don't be afraid; I am holding you up."
Like the father who helps his child learn to swim,
God holds us above the water. We may not feel his hands;
indeed, we may suspect that he lets us go just so we can
do it on our own. But he promises that he doesn't let go.
"I am with you." he declares. "I give you strength
and hold you up."
God's promise never to let go takes on new meaning
in a world where relationships are temporary and life is
uncertain. We do not need to fear, for he is with us.
We can relax and stop striving, for he is our God.
His strength becomes ours; amid all our sin and rebellion,
he undergirds us with his righteousness. We cannot fall,
for he holds us firm.

Application

a) Under what circumstances have I felt myself "falling"?

b) How does God's promise in Is 41:10 help me to have faith
in the midst of my fears?

4) From Prosperity Promises - Kenneth Copeland

Deut 30:19-20

19 (Dt 4:26; 30:1) I call heaven and earth to witnesses against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse.
Therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
20 (Dt 10:20; Ps 27:1) that you may love the Lord your God,
that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him,
for He is your life and the length of your days;
and that you may dwell in the land that the Lord
swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you,
that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 that thou mayest love the LORD thy God,
and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him:
for he is thy life, and the length of thy days:
that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD
sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

5) From a Book called God's Promises for you:

God's Freeing Forgiveness

Ps 103:1-14

PSALMS 103

A Psalm of David.

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits,
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) who forgives all your iniquities,
who heals all your diseases,
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) who satisfies your mouth with good things,
so that your youth is renewed like the eaglerCOs.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8rCo9) The Lord does righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the people of Israel.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) He will not always accuse,
neither will He keep his anger forever.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) He does not treat us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord gives compassion to those who fear Him.
14 For He knows how we are formed;
He remembers that we are dust.

Psalm 103

A Psalm of David.

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: And all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;
Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things;
So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment
For all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses,
His acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 He will not always chide:
Neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins;
Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth,
So great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children,
So the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame;
He remembereth that we are dust.

The Lord's prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
11 (Pr 30:8; Isa 33:16) Give us this day our daily bread.
12 (Ex 34:7; Ps 32:1) And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
13 (1Co 10:13; Jn 17:15) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

9 After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Alberta

Quick facts on Muslims in Alberta

Alberta 2015 population 4121700

est Muslim Population 195240

CNMM Networks: Calgary and Edmonton

It is estimated that Calgary has 82000 Muslims and Edmonton another 50000 . Alberta may have a total as high as 195240 today.
Calgary is notable as the first Canadian city with a Muslim mayor. It's
become a prominent place of Islamic fundamentalism.
Edmonton's Muslim population is very diverse, with the largest group
coming from Tanzania, followed by Somalia, and then North African countries such as Egypt, Morocco, etc.
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus! They overcome huge spiritual,
emotional and cultural hurdles to follow Christ. Yet their challenges still continue, especially in growing in discipleship. They often fell lost in our Western congregations, and equally lost trying to find a church body with whom they can identify. some are even being lured into Christian cult groups.

Please join us in praying for:
- The church to reach out to the growing Muslim populations in Alberta.
- for Canadian churches to start contextualised discipleship ministries to Muslim-background believers.
- for Muslm-background believers to be well grounded spiritually and socially
in their faith and the Church.
- and for Muslim-background believers to share their faith with their not-yet-believing family and friendship networks.
- for Farsi and Arabic fellowships to grow in spiritual maturity and outreach. - for current and new workers among Muslims in these growing Muslim

Pray for the Zaza of Turkey

Everyone called him Doctor K. Since becoming a Christian, his dream was to use his medical training to see his fellow Zaza come to Christ. Combining physical healing with a longing to see spiritual healing, Dr. K. tirelessly travelled the ancient Zaza homelands in the east of Turkey to do medical clinics and to share the gospel.

Whether it was wizened old farmers with foot fungus or toothless aunties with gum disease, Dr. K. listened and served with patience and compassion. His ministry was shortened when, only a few months after twin baby daughters were born, he died of leukemia.

Then God raised up another apostle to the Zaza. Unlike Dr. K., Ismail was not Zaza but, like Dr. K., had a passion to see them reached. Like Dr. K., he was a man filled with compassion and love. And like Dr. K., his ministry was shortened when he died of colon cancer last year.

In the wake of Ismail's passing, the entire Turkish church mourned. Together, they posted their love and appreciation on Instagram saying:

rCLA life dedicated to Jesus Christ, a life spent proclaiming the Good News of salvation from city to city, village to village. Our beloved brother has passed away. However, his life story has left behind a testimony that can serve as an example to us all, both in terms of his determination and his love for Jesus Christ. It has encouraged us to be witnesses who reflect the gracious love of Christ, like the moon reflecting the light of the sun."

How to Pray

Pray for the Zaza people of Eastern Turkey to hear the Good News.

Ask God to raise up and anoint local believers to take the mantle from
Dr. K. and Ismail.

Intercede for the tens of thousands of Zaza who have emigrated to Europe,
that they would be loved and invited to faith by local Christians.

Pray for ongoing Bible translation in Zazaki and that completed portions
would be widely distributed, both electronically and in print.

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity (Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

7) Prayers for the nation (Canada) coming from Prayer map of Canada

http://www.ehc.ca

Day 29 of the Month

a) Pray that God will enlighten those in medicine and health care
to acknowledge the sanctity of life and server with true
integrity and compassion (

Ps 139:13-16

13 You brought my inner parts into being;
You wove me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise you, for You made me with fear and wonder;
marvelous are Your works,
and You know me completely.
15 My frame was not hidden from You
when I was made in secret,
and intricately put together in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw me unformed,
yet in Your book
all my days were written,
before any of them came into being.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins:
Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee,
When I was made in secret, and curiously wrought
in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect;
And in thy book all my members were written,
Which in continuance were fashioned,
When as yet there was none of them.

)

b) Pray that the Church in Canada will remember the poor
and compassionately respond to their plight (

Gal 2:10

10 (Ac 24:17) Only they requested that we should remember the poor,
which I also was eager to do.

10 Only they would that we should remember the poor;
the same which I also was forward to do.

)

Day 30 of the Month

a) Pray for God's will to be done where you live and throughout
Canadian society, as it is in Heaven

( Matt 6:9-13

9 "Therefore pray in this manner:
Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 (Mt 3:2; 4:17) Your kingdom come;

on earth, as it is in heaven.
Amen.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

)

b) Pray that in kindness God will lead many to repentance in your city
or community, and across our nation. (

Rom 2:4

4 (Ex 34:6; Isa 30:18) Do you despise the riches of His goodness,
tolerance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God
leads you to repentance?

4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance
and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth
thee to repentance?

)

Eight) Day 6 - GodrCOs nearness follows repentance and surrender.

Scripture: James 4:8rCo10

8 (2Ch 15:2; Jas 1:8) Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 (Lk 6:25; Pr 14:13) Grieve and mourn and weep.
Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to -!dejection.
10 (Mt 23:12) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord,
and He will lift you up.

[8] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
[9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to
mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
[10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
---

The more I think of God's greatness, the more I feel the weight of my sin. James is clear in James 4:8-10 that we are to have an emotional response to our sin. We are to have great sorrow and grief for our actions. The more sensitive we are to our sin, the greater sensitivity we have towards the goodness of Jesus. It is from this state that we are able to experience the greatness of God's grace. We are not stuck in our sin, for when we come close to God, God will come close to you. The closer we are to God, the more we will desire what He desires and hate what He hates.

Coming close to God means being humble before Him and surrendering our hearts, our actions, and our lives to Him. It is letting godly remorse lead us towards repentance. The sorrow and grief of our own sin is not to be condemnation or shame, for it does not change our standing before God. Jesus is the one who defines our goodness. That is why we are to come before Jesus with a humbled heart, allowing Jesus to lift us up in His power, and not our own.

---

Personal Reflection Questions:

- As you come before God, where do you sense conviction in your life,
and are you allowing that sorrow to lead you toward repentance rather
than condemnation?

- What does humbling yourself before the Lord look like for you right now,
and where do you need to trust Jesus to lift you up instead of relying on
your own strength?

Prayer Points:

- For Youth within Calvary to experience the depth of God's grace, shaping
their identity into men and women of God.

- For the youth in the Millwoods community who are hurting, lost, and alone,
Jesus will meet them and use Calvary Youth as His tool to reach them.
