God's name IS a name. "Lord" is a title. The Bible says there are
"many lords":
- New King James
1 Corinthians 8:5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in
heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords),
And some translators have come out with downright lies:
-- New King James
Psalms 83:18 That men may know that You, whose name alone is the
Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.
How come you are not shouting from the rooftops of the injustice done
by some translators. At any rate, the NWT has corrected the errors:
(Psalm 83:18) May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You
alone are the Most High over all the earth.

The disciples didn't write that, it was the 4th century scribes who
changed the Tetragrammaton for "Lord". But an older fragment of LXX
has God's name as "Jehovah", not Lord. Thus it appears the original
LXX carried the Tetragrammaton in all its almost 7000 places. Why
aren't you criticizing them for making around 7000 changes to the
Bible?
1. Joel 2:32 ? Romans 10:13
o Joel 2:32 (LXX): oEveryone who calls on the name of the LORD
(*Kurios*) will be saved.o
That's a bad translation. It should read:
(Romans 10:13) For oeveryone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be
saved.o (NWT)
If you quote something, it should be word for word. Otherwise don't
quote it.
-- American Standard
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the
name of Jehovah shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there shall be those that escape, as Jehovah hath said, and among the
remnant those whom Jehovah doth call.
The NWT concurs:
(Joel 2:32) And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be
saved; For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who
escape, just as Jehovah has said, The survivors whom Jehovah calls.o
o Romans 10:13: oEveryone who calls on the name of the LORD
(*Kurios*) will be saved.o
This is a direct quote from Joel 2:32. So it should read:
(Romans 10:13) For oeveryone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be
saved.o
So why don't Bibles have God's name in the NT? Early Bible copiests
thought God's name was too sacred to be pronounced by even pagans. So
they replaced it with "Lord". If we only had older copies of the NT,
you would see that.
Thus, technically those translators copied what was in the oldest NT
records. And "Lord" is found in place of "Jehovah" in the NT.
Paul applies this to Jesus in Romans 10:9, identifying Him as the
*Kurios* on whom we call for salvation.
Paul would have never made applications that made the Bible a liar.
It's the early translators that screwed it up. And most all the
translations of the NT today, have just copied what was there, and
did not correct it. Thus they made the Bible to be a liar. (Ps 83:18
name is "Lord".
2. Isaiah 45:23 ? Philippians 2:10u11
o Isaiah 45:23 (LXX): oTo Me every knee shall bow, every tongue
shall confess to God.o
OK.
o Philippians 2:10u11: oAt the name of Jesus every knee should
bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is LORD
(*Kurios*).o
Paul applies this passage about YHWH to Jesus, calling Him *Kurios*.
3. Deuteronomy 6:4 ? 1 Corinthians 8:6
o Deuteronomy 6:4 (LXX): oThe LORD (*Kurios*) our God, the LORD
(*Kurios*) is one.o
OK.
o 1 Corinthians 8:6: oYet for us there is one God, the Father...
and one LORD (*Kurios*), Jesus Christ.o
Paul affirms monotheism and includes Jesus as *Kurios* within the divine >>identity.
Those are words you added: "divine identity". It doesn't say that. It
shows there are TWO persons being talked about.
"And" is a conjunction and shows another person added. Thus there are
TWO individuals here.
4. Psalm 34:8 ? 1 Peter 2:3
o Psalm 34:8 (LXX): oTaste and see that the LORD (*Kurios*) is
good.o
Bad translation. It should read:
-- American Standard
Psalms 34:8 Oh taste and see that Jehovah is good: Blessed is the man
that taketh refuge in him.
o 1 Peter 2:3: oIf indeed you have tasted that the LORD
(*Kurios*) is good.o
Peter quotes the psalm about YHWH and applies it to Jesus as *Kurios*.
Yes, Jesus did only what God wanted, so he was a prime example of the
Father. But the Scripture nowhere says Jesus IS the Father. That is
just your opinion.
5. Isaiah 8:13u14 ? 1 Peter 3:15; Romans 9:33
o Isaiah 8:13: oBut the LORD (*Kurios*) of hosts, Him you shall
honor as holy...o
-- American Standard
Isaiah 8:13 Jehovah of hosts, him shall ye sanctify; and let him be
your fear, and let him be your dread.
Another bad translation:
o 1 Peter 3:15: oHonor Christ the LORD (*Kurios*) as holy in your
hearts.o
-- New King James
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be
ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope
that is in you, with meekness and fear;
That is speaking about God.
o Isaiah 8:14: oAnd He will become a sanctuary and a stone of
stumbling...o
Yes, God is.
Romans 9:33
- New King James
Romans 9:33 As it is written: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling
stone and rock of offense, and whoever believes on Him will not be put
to shame.''
It is speaking of God
I need to stop it here.My comments will all be the same. The OT was
talking about God, and the NT applied it to Jesus. Not because Jesus
is God, but that Jesus copied God exclusively. Notice:
- New King James
John 14:9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet
you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father;
so how can you say, `Show us the Father'?
-- New King James
John 6:46 "Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from
God; He has seen the Father.
-- Revised Standard
John 5:30 "I can do nothing on my own authority; as I hear, I judge;
and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will
of him who sent me.
THUS SINCE JESUS COPIED HIS FATHER TO THE LETTER, MOST OF WHAT WAS
APPLIED TO GOD, COULD ALSO BE APPLIED TO JESUS, AND THAT DOESN'T MAKE
HIM GOD. JUST A LOYAL SERVANT AS GOD'S SON.

identifying Him as the *Kurios*.
6. Psalm 102:25u27 ? Hebrews 1:10u12
o Psalm 102:25 (LXX): oYou, LORD (*Kurios*), laid the foundation
of the earth in the beginning.o
o Hebrews 1:10: oYou, LORD (*Kurios*), laid the foundation of the
earth in the beginning.o
