Thank you for this, Kevin. I gave it a quick scan, but I'll need time
to do a close read before writing a real reply (that will take even
more time). So I wanted to acknowledge your post right away.

Here's one bit of info I can give back. You advised me to check my
computer clock. That's something I can do right away. It says 4:28 pm,
which is the same as my phone and alarm clock. I'll post now; it will
be interesting to see what those headers say.

I should note it took between noon and almost 3pm EST for this post to
show up on my server. You really ought to question JLA or go elsewhere to post. That's my two cents. Ask why nobody else seems to be affected.

Here's what I see in your headers:
On the current post, I see this:

    1. ["Date: Thu, 19 Feb 2026 16:29:17 -0500"]

which seems to coincide with the "4:28pm" above.

So what's the deal with it showing up on this server?

(In this case it's my Motzarella account)

    2. ["NNTP-Posting-Date: Fri, 20 Feb 2026 19:01:59 +0000]"

Even allowing for the 5 hour offset that's a delay of almost 23.5 hours.

I see the same headers in the "BlockNews" server as well.

Why do I have several accounts? Blocknews goes back over 20 years and you never know when one of these servers breaks or goes away for good. Motazarella only goes back a few years.

George: Did you use an NSP and a newsreader previously? There's a few
free servers and if you can't get one of them, Blocknews will get you
enough posting and reading bandwidth to last for YEARS for about 3
    dollars.

All NSP providers I've seen have instructions on using a newsreader to
    access their offerings.

Thanks again for checking it out; I've reread everything, and bookmarked it for future reference. I think it's clear that the problem is the incompatibility between JLA and usenet. I'd thought it was because of the pictures I was embeddint into my JLA posts, which is why I was so interested in your
checking the timing of my previous one. Apparently picutres are not the problem.

I am somewhat interested in getting back onto Usenet. I was on there
twice, actually: once in the late 90s, before I discovered Deja News, which
was just so much easier to use; and once in 2023-24 or so, when google
decided to add RECAPTCHA service and mine didn't work. I was on
Eternal September, which was cool -- and I had the bonus of Ray Banana
ruling on whether my PPB promos were spam. (He ruled they weren't.)

The problem that latter time was my newsreader, Thunderbird. First, I
had to download not just the newsreader but an inbox as well; second, I
got stuck in the inbox and couldn't access the newsreader; third, I couldn't find the tech support on Thunderbird; so back to the web I went

I like some of JLA Forums, particularly the opportunity to edit posts, so I'd like to stay here as well; but it would be nice to post directly to Usenet as well. One problem will be how to not send out two copied of everything to
my three groups, but that can be looked at in time. I don't want to try
that now, as I went through a turbulent period last year, and it may take
me much of this year for things to settle down. So rather than say nothing, and have you
think I was ignoring you, I thought I should explain.
