Requests of that sort almost always get at least one person responding who wants to be part of the lie.

Will Donkey isn't even getting that. Silence, even from the supposed "friends" of his.

Dirty Mike was wise for a filthy hobo.

Even his fellow students who were on the staff of Pegasus have no recollection of the man who supposedly wrote the introduction and was poet in residence for 5 months.

IF, and we mean IF, Ahmos Zu-Bolton was in Columbus, it was only for a week or two. Will Donkey has expanded that in his disabled mind to be poet-in-residence, friend, inspiration, teacher, and writer of letter in Pegasus. If Zu-Bolton was in Columbus for, say, two weeks, how much influence could he have had? How much guidance could he have given to the Pegasus staff? How much could he have edited it? Not much.

    You're being too generous, NancyGene.

    The correct answer is "None."

His letter/Introduction attests to that fact:

"This magazine is completely student edited."

    IOW: 100% student edited, 0% Zu-Bolton edited.

Not only did he have no part in editing it, but he served as an "advisor" in name only, and took no interest in the magazine whatsoever. His letter/Introduction attests to this as well:

"Since coming to Carver I have kept my distance."

He further states that "Being an editor-of-sorts my-self, I tend to throw out opinions the way fountains throw out water--but this time I managed to keep my mouth shut."

We stand corrected. He wasn't in Columbus, wouldn't have done anything there anyway even if he had been, the Pegasus issue is crudely put together, and Will Donkey doesn't have a copy. "Neon Bones" is yet to be written, although it will read exactly as all other Donkey poems read --unspeakable sh*t.

According to the Introduction, he was in Columbus. He just didn't want anything to do with the dopey high school kids or their magazine.

If one believes that the Introduction isn't a fake, of course.

I like to think that the Introduction is real. It's probably the only Introduction to a student magazine where their "Advisor" states that he had absolutely nothing to do with it, and kept as far away from the students who worked on it as possible.

By Donkey logic, if Bob Dylan once appeared in Columbus, Dylan did a residency there. Zu-Bolton wasn't in Columbus. Donkey has made up the whole thing, including the "proof." He waits until the people are dead (like Pickles did) to claim friendship/mentorship or influence.

I can't say I blame him. If Dockery's lie was true that Zu-Bolton was a good friend and major influence how does that look with him flunking out of High School. I believe it was Barfield that wrote the intro, cashed the check and pocketed the money.

Zu-Bolton wasn't there anyway. Donkey needed no mentor to flunk out of school at 19. By his own account, he slept through most classes or didn't go at all. We wonder how many times Barfly called out "sick" and met Donkey for assignations?

We think Barfly was at the school for the whole year, but they did fire him after that last semester. Barfly was teaching Will Donkey tantric sex in the parking lot. It was a dirt parking lot.
