    Bullsh*t

    Absolutely not.

    It's already been established
that he was a "Visiting Poet"
    from Howard University (650
    miles away), who crashed on
Barfield's sofa (typo corrected ) > when he came to visit.

Dan Barfield introduced Ahmos Zu-Bolton to the English class and Pegasus literary journal staff as Poet-in-Residence in Spring of 1976.

"I don't know all the personal information about Ahmos Zu-Bolton's
living arrangements here in Columbus Georgia and Dan Barfield is dead
now so I can't ask him (Judy Barfield might know), but it is possible
Ahmos Zu-Bolton might have crashed on Barfield's sofa or something
when he was here in town."

    (Typo corrected.)

Yes, this happened when Ahmos Zu-Bolton was in Columbus Georgia as Poet-in-Residence at Carver High School

    And so it goes.

For the 27th time, he was Poet-in-Residence at Howard University -- 650 miles away.

If Barf introduced him as "Poet-in-Residence," he was using his Howard University title.

You either misunderstood him, or are misremembering his words.

Zuzu was not in the Carver yearbook and was never "in residence" at Carver High. He could not possibly have been "in residence" at two different schools with 650 miles between them.

Since his residency at Howard is documented online, whereas no mention of his alleged simultaneous residency at Carver is mentioned, one should think that even a Donkey could see the truth.

    Dumbass.

However, the Dumbass Donkey cannot "see." That is well-documented here. 20/200 would be a generous estimate. --Dr. NancyGene, Ophthalmologist

I didn't say that it was discussed.

    Try to pay attention, dumbass.

Zuzu's title (at Howard) was "Poet-in-Residence."

Zuzu signs his professional correspondence (e.g., the Pegasus Introduction) along with his title.

His introduction does not specify "Howard" or "Carver." It just says "Poet-in-Residence."

When Barfly introduced him, he introduced him by his title -- exactly the same way that Zuzu used it: "Ahmos Zu-Bolton, "Poet-in-Residence."

You would naturally have assumed that Barf meant "at Carver." But that was not the case.

Zuzu never worked for Carver. He wasn't listed in the yearbook, and he had a full time job at Howard University 650 miles away.

By your own recollection he sat in on some of Barf's classes. Sitting in on some classes is not what someone on the Faculty would do.

A "Poet-in-Residence" is someone who is employed as a teacher at a school. If Zuzu was "in residence at Carver, he would have had his own class there. He may have also sat in on some of Barf's classes, but he would *need* to also have his own class. If he did not have his own class, he was not "in residence."

Zuzu sat in on some classes at Carver as part of the Visiting Poet program that he was a part of at that time. The Visiting Poet visited schools (particularly city based schools with minority student populations), sat in on their classes, and encouraged them to write poetry.

A Visiting Poet was not employed by the individual schools he visited. He was employed by the Visiting Poet Program. If he received money for his visits (and he probably did), it would have been out of classroom budget (which is why Barfly had to cash his checks for him).

Barf introduced him as "Poet-in-Residence" (at Howard). He didn't say "at Howard," but that is where the title came from.

*PLEASE NOTE: This is assuming that he was there at all, since you haven't shown any concrete evidence that he was.

I believe you. And the above explanation details how he could have been there while working full time at a University 650 miles away... but it is only a logical hypothesis -- not proof.

You would naturally have assumed that Barfield meant "at Carver."

DONKEY: That's what it sounded like and how the Pegasus introduction puts it.

MMP: To clarify, the Introduction does *not* say "at Carver."

By your own recollection he sat in on some of Barfield's classes. Sitting in on some classes is not what someone on the Faculty would do.

DONKEY: Zu-Bolton was definitely on visitor status, he spoke but never actually taught entire classes, that I know of.

MMP: You obviously don't understand what "in residence" means. A visitor, even if employed by the school, cannot be "in residence.'

According to Dunce's "trusted source," "A residence is the physical place, such as a house or apartment, where a person actually lives, dwells, or makes their home."

    IOW: "Residence" = "Home."

Dunce's "trusted source" describes "in residence" as follows: "a person with a particular occupation (especially an artist or writer) paid to work in a college or other institution."

A "poet-in-residence" is a poet who works *in* a college. He is not a guest speaker who visits a classroom.

His home base (i.e., "residence") was at Howard University.

The title "Poet-in-Residence" is important because he did not have a degree in Education (he had one in English literature and journalism). Generally, one needs to have a degree in Education in order to become a teacher. But as per the above definition, someone with "a particular occupation (especially an artist or writer)" will be hired by a school without having a degree in Education.

"Poet-in-Residence" is basically a credential allowing someone who has not been educated to be a teacher to teach.

Neither Barfly or Zu-Bolton would have had any reason to specify "at Howard University." They are merely using the title to say "Ahmos Zu-Bolton, a poet who has been granted the right to teach based on his work experiences."

    A "Poet-in-Residence"

DONKEY: That's how Dan Barfield introduced him to the English class when Zu-Bolton arrived at Carver High School, though.

MMP: As well he should have. (See above.0

Zu-Bolton sat in on some classes at Carver as part of the Visiting Poet program that he was a part of at that time. The Visiting Poet visited schools (particularly city based schools with minority student populations), sat in on their classes, and encouraged them to write poetry.

A Visiting Poet was not employed by the individual schools he visited. He was employed by the Visiting Poet Program. If he received money for his visits (and he probably did), it would have been out of classroom budget (which is why Barfield had to cash his checks for him).

    DONKEY: That makes sense.

MMP: My mother and Aunt (who lived next door) were teachers. I grew up living with two teachers and have naturally acquired an insider's understanding of how the education system worked (at least in the 1970s and 80s).

Barfield introduced him as "Poet-in-Residence" (at Howard). He didn't say "at Howard," but that is where the title came from.

I believe you. And the above explanation details how he could have been there while working full time at a University 650 miles away... but it is only a logical hypothesis -- not proof.

DONKEY: Childish name-calling aside, this doesn't sound like a bad guess at now it went, in detail.

MMP: At this point, it is much less a guess than the most logical conclusion to be drawn from the available evidence.

If Barfield introduced him as "Poet-in-Residence," he was using his Howard University title.

No, Howard University was not discussed.

Zu-Bolton's title (at Howard) was "Poet-in-Residence."

Zu-Bolton signs his professional correspondence (e.g., the Pegasus Introduction) along with his title.

His introduction does not specify "Howard" or "Carver." It just says "Poet-in-Residence."

When Barfield introduced him, he introduced him by his title -- exactly the same way that Zuzu used it: "Ahmos Zu-Bolton, "Poet-in-Residence."

You would naturally have assumed that Barfield meant "at Carver."

Dockery: That's what it sounded like and how the Pegasus introduction puts it.

MMP: To clarify, the Introduction does *not* say "at Carver."

It was published in the Carver High School publication Pegasus, in 1976.

By your own recollection he sat in on some of Barfield's classes. Sitting in on some classes is not what someone on the Faculty would do.

Ahmos Zu-Bolton spoke to the class and talked about writing poetry.

Dockery: Zu-Bolton was definitely on visitor status, he spoke but never actually taught entire classes, that I know of.

MMP: You obviously don't understand what "in residence" means. A visitor, even if employed by the school, cannot be "in residence.'

That's how Dan Barfield introduced him, as Poet-in-Residence.

According to Dance's "trusted source," "A residence is the physical place, such as a house or apartment, where a person actually lives, dwells, or makes their home."

    IOW: "Residence" = "Home."

Dance's "trusted source" describes "in residence" as follows: "a person with a particular occupation (especially an artist or writer) paid to work in a college or other institution."

Neither Barfield or Zu-Bolton would have had any reason to specify "at Howard University." They are merely using the title to say "Ahmos Zu-Bolton, a poet who has been granted the right to teach based on his work experiences."

    A "Poet-in-Residence"

Dockery: That's how Dan Barfield introduced him to the English class when Zu-Bolton arrived at Carver High School, though.

MMP: As well he should have. (See above.0

    Okay, we agree on that.

    Dockery: That makes sense.

    Possibly.

    JHC, Donkey. STFU already.

The subject has been done to death.

Ahmos Zu-Bolton could not possibly have been "in residence" at Carver when he was iin residence 650 miles away at Howard.

I've explained how he *could* have visited Carver while employed at Howard.

I realize that you're incredibly stupid, and that even the simplest of concepts need to be drilled into your head multiple times for anything to stick... but enough is enough.

    Just shut the fuck up.

    Dumbass.

Had you not trollishly post-edited his statement, you would see that it originally asked: "Why can nobody else confirm it?"

Once again, your behavior only drives home the fact that our "troll-in-residence' is, was, and always has been... you.

Dan Barfield introduced Ahmos Zu-Bolton to the English

Yes, this happened when Ahmos Zu-Bolton was in Columbus

Are they liars like you? What exactly do they remember, Douchebag?

Look who's talking, Kevin Fries, who promised to post his vocal
performance video almost twelve years ago.

Why do you lie about this after being corrected and ridiculed about it
    many, many times, Douchebag?

    Still nothing but *crickets*

You're still nothing but a douchebag, Douchebag!

    Even crickets laugh at you.
