You hadn't seen her since gradua... since you dropped out, so she would have appeared in your dream just as she had when she was in high school.

Your poem also stresses that she was a "little freckled girl." It is obviously fetishizing here youthful, little girlish appearance. Sexualizing the "little girl" image on the pretext that the girl only looks like she's 10 years old.

Further, the girl is acting "spacey" (stoned out of her mind) in the dream meeting.

I met a girl

we knew each other instantly.
