    I just saw something the other day that specifically discussed Canadian lumber exports, but I presume it might apply to a number of other industries. Since the US was the primary importer of Canadian construction lumber, all the tooling was set up for imperial units of measure. Now that the focus is shifting to other buyers, there's a huge investment required to convert/replace equipment over to metric.

    My opinion, for as little as it might be worth, is that recent US economic policy is more globally disruptive than a lot of people are taking into account.

    I think if you used the term "... a lot of people are willing to admit" instead of "... a lot of people are taking into account", you'd probably be closer to the mark.
