It's nearly 10pm here, and my eyes are heavy... not even 10 and I'm so sleepy. Must be getting old..

What season / temps is it in Australia right now? Here we are having 10ish degree weather (F) it's been extremely cold. Always makes me sleepy for sure. I also feel much more sleepy in general with age and or since COVID.

How is everyone? Getting ready for Xmas?

Is anyone going away or anything? seeing family?

I'm happy to see Apam posting on Ghosts In the Machine! Things are good here my friend. The three kiddos are getting excited about Christmas, tree is up, home looks great. I hope our Christmas is here this year as our Thanksgiving was filled with driving across Indiana. It would be nice to have a Christmas at home. With it being a Wednesday this year, I think we'll get away with that and have most of our driving that following weekend. How about yourself?

I'm going good, had a break from BBSing for a few months. Was / am
working on things in Second Life, but needed a bit of a break from that
as I was burned out.

Second life, as in the virtual world, or real life ;)

Started a new BBS software (one day I'll get it right ;P) and having fun with that.

Everyone should start calling around some of the new BBSes cropping up, especially Apam's new Envy all Java Script BBS software, it's quite impressive!

It's summer and been quiet hot, although today it's raining and sounds like a thunderstorm might be coming.

It would be nice to have a Christmas at home. With it being a Wednesday this year, I think we'll get away with that and have most of our driving that following weekend. How about yourself?

Yeah possibly at home this year, often my sister-in-law has a thing, but haven't heard much. It would be nice not to have to go out.

The virtual world, I do a lot of scripting on that, both for my own creations and sometimes get hired to help others. It's fun, but as I'm not one to charge people much, it costs more than I make back. Although the last few months I've broken even with Second Life, I went and started a whole seperate virtual world so my customers on Second Life could transfer their things between and have it not cost so much (at present it's for free for them, but costing me a bit)

I make these virtual pets that breed and make new virtual pets, you feed them and take care of them as they grow up and reproduce, but Second Life charges a lot for Virtual Land which you need to keep them on, hence why I made my own world where i can charge more realistic prices (and the pets can be transfered between).

I'll give it a few more months, but after that if people don't want to rent an island, and only use the free plots, i might have to shut it down. For comparison, my island would cost $US 15 a month to maintain, Second Life charges nearly $200 US.

Well, it's not all java script, the base is C++, java script is the scripting language, a bit like synchronet, where the menus and a lot of the features are built in javascript but the core is C++.
