It's still around; it's called "Kodi" these days. It could/can do a lot,
but got a bit of a bad reputation thanks to people selling it
pre-installed with pirate streams on Fire sticks, etc. I use it for my
home collection.
I use Kodi as well to play all my content. It runs on my Nvidia Shields.
