I take it that it's the first of the month. One thing I've noticed about retirement is that I lose track of what day it is :O

I look forward to that! :)It's all my wife's fault. She has her own business as a landscape architech and works everyday almost. I have no sense of the week because of it and Wednesday can seem like Saturday. It's disorienting sometimes but, hey... I'm back in my "Child".

I look forward to the retirement days when the excitement for the day is planning your trips to the stores to get the best deals at each
location. :)
Last week though, we took a couple extra days and flew to Montana toThe next time you are there, say hello to my daughter Meghan. She ended up staying at the Lochsa Lodge over the winter. They called her and asked if she would consider helping them out even though originally they were closed for the season. They gave her a cabin and she cut fire wood for them and ploughed snow. She always told me she was the son I never had. She has a thing for trucks too :O
visit my son and his girlfriend. The trip was so relaxing that even with the freezing wetather I found myself looking at property in the area.

Me too..
I had been taking every other Friday or so of as I'm maxed out on PTO,
that is kind of getting me prepped to slow down.

Hard to fathom that I could get acreage and a nice sized ranch-style for about what I could sell my condo here for.
Yes, the longer I am away from work, the more relaxed I become. I have
been working non-stop since around 11 year old and getting to the point
that I want to focus on things I want to do. Not having a schedule, not having to deal with people that drive me crazy, no work politics, none
of it.
At the same time I don't want to go backwards and if it wasn't for local family and all the work we put into where we live now, I would be fine
with investigating other areas. Places where I could get at least 40
acres and see any neighbors. That would be my perfect spot.
Looking forward, I realize that all I 'need' would be enough space for a small gardem and a spot for a decent tower for HAM Radio, a single acre would be enough, and more or less manageable as I age and my knees give out.
Same here. First job @ 9 delivering the local paper.
One thinkg about acreage though... While I would love to have a few
acres, I'm not getting younger... My in-laws have close to 3 acres not
far from here, but are at that state where it's just too much for them to manage. Looking forward, I realize that all I 'need' would be enough

We have a house in the country with 40 acres - nearest neighbor is 1 mile away. It has its pluses, and there are times when it is nice to heave
peace and quiet!
On the flip side we also have our house in the city - and we enjoy it here too. Theater, arts, social activities, shopping, etc. -dmxrob
