I got a greaseweazle for floppy things. Works really good and gives me
the ability to make floppies for other systems like Mac's and Amiga's
    and such.

I've got a Greaseweazle and I love it. I's great for making C64 floppies. I haven'y used it for any Atari titles yet since I got a Fujinet. I'm using ADTPro to make floppies on my Apple IIe.

I thought 20 years ago zip drives would be a way to solve the issue.

i thought the same, too, luckily i've recently been able to recover most of my data from even the clickiest of my "dead" zip disks using a known good internal zip drive and some dos software called tiramisuzip. took q lot of searching to figure out how to "register" it so i could actually recover the data, though, but it can be done!

done, i think. Don't remember how i registered my copy, just know it was a massive pain finding any niformation on it and it was a miracle i was able to. i DO know that registration requires a floppy with the right key on it in the floppy drive when you start the program, so i have a few floppies with my key just in case one dies.
