I had the same situation when leaving BT. It took them a couple of weeks to
credit the money back to my account.

I had the same situation when leaving BT. It took them a couple of weeks to
credit the money back to my account.

There was a small amount of credit left on my BT bill when I left.
They clearly had no intention of crediting it to me or closing the
    account.
Then I realised why, I still had a product with them, a BT Chargecard
which I hadn't used for ages.
I decided to leave the account open in case I needed to make a
    cashless call in an emergency.
A year or two later the Chargecard service was withdrawn and I closed
    the account got the refund.

IIRC I think they will automatically credit the account your direct debit came
from. Give them a few weeks and chase if nothing shows up.

    Ok - thanks
