Also there are plenty of FreeView channels with exactly the same

If you can receive those two, then your box is capable of DVB-T2, but I

UK TV has been piss-poor at differentiating the technologies used from
    the picture format delivered.

e.g. SD started life using DVB-T1/S1 and MPEG2, then along came HD using DVB-T2/S2 and MPEG4, but now SD channels are using DVB-T2/S2 and MPEG4,
that seems to be what's tripping-up your box, which (if any) channels
from this list can you receive on your "bestest" STB?

    <https://www.lyngsat.com/muxes/Astra-2F_UK_11344-V.html>

It always used to be that on Freeview, HD channels were only carried on
DVB-T2 and SD channels were only carried on DVB-T multiplexes. Then COM7
and COM8 began carrying a few "sub-SD" channels (544x576 rather than
720x576) though still encoded as H264 rather than MPEG as on PSB 1-2 and
COM 4-6. Once COM 7-8 closed, a few of the sub-SD channels moved to PSB3
which is nominal the HD multiplexes.

I read recently that one of the COM muxes has just started carrying a SD channel in H264 (amongst all the others in MPEG) as an experiment.

I don't actually use a dedicated PVR; instead I use TV Headend on a
Raspberry Pi with DVB-T2 and DVB-S2 tuners, so I can receive anything.
It can be a pain manually tweaking the DVB-S mux settings (symbol rate,
FEC etc) if they happen to change. And I've set it up to have all the
various BBC1 and ITV1 regional variations in case there's a story that
is covered in greater detail on a local news than on the national news.

And VideoReDo software allows me to edit out continuity and adverts
("the crap"). I tend to record things and watch them later (without "the crap") rather than watching them live.

Similar, but not on a RPi

I find the FEC and Modulation settings sort themselves out if entered as "Auto".

I doubt that any FTA satellite channels need an ident or tag to identify
them as Freesat because they exist as such only within the Freesat EPG. Otherwise they are no different from the many other unencrypted channels
on the satellite. Presumably the EPG data includes the current

Receivers that are Freesat-certified are programmed to look for this
    data. >

    That's ITV3 of Freeview

On Freesat the standard definition version is no longer broadcast,
only the HD version. If the receiver is not capable of receiving HD
brodcasts the channel will be missing.-a On satellite ITV3+1 is SD.

    TTV3 = Thats TV 3

Sorry I misread the TV channel, but is it "that's TV 3"

From a 3 day old scan I have
    That's Summer
    That's Dance
    That's Melody

Sorry no channel numbers as I have a satellite box configured for the
Sky free to air (FTA) channels and the sky EPG for them. The box can be configured for the Freesat channels but Sky FTA gives me another couple
    more channel not on Freesat.

Yes - it seems to be a FTA channel, but NOT assigned a Freesat Channel
    number

As per my previous response, the page at https://www.thats.tv might clarify
