• OT: Does newsgrouper.org work in the UK

Is newsgrouper.org accessible in the UK? I seem to recall
that it might not be due to the UK Online Safety Act.

I ask since novabbs.com is not working, and from
    alt.arts.poetry.comments the maintainer Retro Guy
may have died, so I hope to change the pointers
to alt.religion.druid that I have on my web site from
    novabbs.com to newsgrouper.org , but I may look
for another alternative if newsgrouper.org is not
    accessible from UK IP addresses.

    On newssgrouper.org uk.religion.christian is accessible at http://newsgrouper.org/uk.religion.christian
(at least outside of the UK).

Newsgrouper is not accessible in the UK. If you want to point people at a Usenet archive, then Narkive seems to be the one that is currently best maintained.

I wasn't aware that usenet was still being archived, following the
retirement of Google groups, so thanks for the narchive link.

It's interesting that narchive accessible in the uk but not newsgrouper.

Are they just being (over) cautious due to the online safety act?

Yes; the operator of Newsgrouper appears to have taken extremely (many would say excessively) cautious pre-emptive action rather than wait for more
    detailed guidance from Ofcom.
