In one of his books David Rohl suggests that immigrants from Mesopotamia landed in Egypt from the Red Sea, dragged their ships across to the Nile
and became the dominant class in Egypt. His primary evidence appeared to
be some prehistoric rock pictures way out in the desert.
I have a lot of time for Rohl, even though I disagree with him on the
date for the Exodus, but I must admit that I thought his story
interesting but unlikely. However there is now genetic evidence that, in
one individual at least, agrees with Rohl's theory.
